As part of Op Sadbhavna, an educational and motivational tour under the aegis of Indian Army, for 20 students and two teachers from far flung areas of Rajouri Dist in J&K was organized. The team visited the Western Command today.

YOUTH FROM REMOTE AREAS IN J&K VISIT CHANDIMANDIR

Lt Gen Surinder Singh, GOC-in-C Western Command felicitated these youth at Chandimandir and while interacting, Gen Singh exhorted them to excel in their chosen fields and thereby skill themselves for a brighter and secure future. The primary aim of the tour is to motivate students from remote areas to get a first hand feel of development in other regions of our country and thereby raise the level of skill development to empower these youth from Jammu and Kashmir to be self reliant. The experience so gained on culmination of this tour will in addition open new horizons for these youth.

The secondary aim of this tour is to spread a message of goodwill about the genuine efforts being undertaken by the Army in bringing the youth of this region to develop to its full potential. The focus of this tour is also to inspire the students of the state to become well groomed and responsible future citizens of the country who will uphold the honour and dignity of the country and safeguard the rich cultural heritage of the Nation.

The group later met the Honorable Governor of Punjab at Panjab Raj Bhavan. This contingent shall also meet legendary Padmashree Milkha Singh on 08 Aug.

During their stay in Chandigarh the group also visited the Rock and Rose Gardens, Verka Milk Plant, Mohali, Chattbir Zoo, Timber Trail and also witnessed a regional cultural show. The youth and their teachers expressed their gratitude to the Indian Army for this educative tour. The visit played a significant role in enabling the young impressionable minds of students to appreciate the incredible India
