Young Communicators Club of GGDSD College holds Installation Ceremony
The Young Communicators Club (YCC) under the ageis of Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College, Chandigarh hosted its Installation Ceremony, a significant event marking the beginning of a new chapter for the club. The event was graced by Dr. Rupesh K. Singh, Associate Vice President, Corporate Affairs, Adani Group & Chairman of the Chandigarh Chapter of Public Relations Council of India (PRCI), and Dr. Renuka Salwan, Vice President North PRCI, both of whom shared inspiring messages with the attendees.
Principal, Dr. Ajay Sharma welcomed the gathering and highlighted the importance of communication in today’s world. He stated that the initiative helps to bridge the industry-academia gap.
The much-awaited pinning ceremony took place at the event during which the YCC core team was formally introduced and felicitated. Shreya Suman and Parmeet Chaudhary took charge as President and Vice President of the club, while Arshpreet Kaur and Aastha Sharma were announced as General Secretary and Joint Secretary respectively.
Dr. Singh highlighted the role of the PRCI network that is furthering the cause of the profession, “Professionals, researchers and students have the opportunity to exchange ideas related to the field of mass communication. This moment marks the beginning of the journey where we will build new communication skills, learn to listen, collaborate and advocate for important causes. We will become a voice for the new generation, a voice that is heard.” He also lauded the meticulous efforts of the organizing committee led by Dr. Priya Chadha, YYC Chair for her exemplary leadership.

Dr. Renuka Salwan, Vice President North, PRCI encouraged members to come forward with energy and passion and to carry forward the legacy of the club. She stated, “Communication and networking are the basic skills required for any profession. PRCI is experiencing increased participation of students via the Young Communicator Clubs established in various educational institutions across India.”
Students were felicitated for the podcasts created for the club. Gauri Sharma was awarded a certificate for event coverage of the Independence Day celebration and Prabhnoor was appreciated for her video poem presented on Janamashtami. Prizes were also awarded to the winners of the inter-college photo journalism competition Mantasha from PGGC-11 was awarded the first prize while Aniket Rana from GGDSD College and Karandeep Singh from PGGC- 11 bagged the second and third prizes respectively.
This event marked a new era of leadership, with the core team expressing their dedication to fostering growth and innovation within the club. The event concluded on a high note, with attendees filled with enthusiasm for the journey to come.
