Yogic Diet & Daily Regimen: Key to manage Metabolic Disorders

A two day national conference which is jointly organized by Govt. College Of Yoga Education and  Health, Sector 23A, Chandigarh And Haryana Yog Aayog on the theme ‘Role of Yoga and Naturopathy in Management of Metabolic Disorders’.

The second day of the conference commenced with the Awareness walk on National Naturopathy Day. The first session of the conference was taken by Dr. Rama Walia, Associate Professor, Deptt. of Endocrinology, PGIMER, CHD. In her address she spoke about the Remission of diabetes & PCOS and also talked about how diabetes can be cured with the collaboration of medical science and the Yogic lifestyle.

The next keynote speaker was Swami DayaDiphanand ji, Medical Superintendent of the hospital under the aegis of Ramakrishna mission at Haridwar. He explained about the importance of integrated medicine in the current scenario and also supported the fact that it is only the yogic lifestyle that can help a person to work in stressful situations.

The next session was convened by Dr. J.S. Thakur, Professor Community Medicine, PGIMER, CHD and he talked about the prevalence of introducing Yoga at the student level. He also shared his research about the same.

Dr. Saras Jyoti, Research Assistant, Haryana Yog Aayog briefed the dignitaries and the audience about the ongoing research projects of Haryana Yog Aayog. She also told about the various achievements that are being attained by Haryana Yog Aayog in a very short duration of time.

Dr. Ms. Shyampriyaa, Lokayurved Key Catalyst explained the essence of ‘SwasthhetuAahar Vidhi’ in which different dietary aspects of the food were described by her according to the various ritus of the year.

The topic of Yoga & Wellness Tourism was very well explained by Maj. Dr. Gulshan Sharma, Global Service Strategist, Inspirational Speaker & Life Coach. He stressed upon the need of emotional wellness, economic wellness and spiritual wellness is the need of the hour.

Dr. Jaideep Arya, Chairman, Haryana Yog Aayog enlightened the dignitaries and the audience about the various changes that are being brought into the lifestyle of the students and general public as a whole by the efforts put in by Haryana Yog Aayog along with other organizations.

Sh. Satypal Jain, Additional Solicitor General, Govt. of India and former Member of Parliament from Chandigarh was the Chief Guest and the Guest of honor for the valedictory function was Sh. Ishwar Singh Duhan, IG of ITBP. They were welcomed by Principal of the college Dr. Sapna Nanda and Dr. Jaideep Arya, Chairman of Haryana Yog Aayog. In his presidential address the chief guest spoke about how Yoga has become an indigenous part and parcel of Human existence after the pandemic and has changed the outlook of mankind towards health systems. The guest of honor also spoke about how Yoga and Wellness have helped the para forces in achieving their health targets in extreme climates.

Dr. Anupma and Dr. Jaspreet were the Nodal Officers for the event. The occasion ended with Prize distribution ceremonies for various competitions and a paper presentation on Research for the benefits of Public at large.
