There was a significant boycott campaign against the films Raksha Bandhan starring Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar, Vikram Vedha starring Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan, and Brahmstra starring Ranbir Kapoor.

Similar criticism is being directed at Shah Rukh Khan’s next film Pathaan. Be it because of how historical people or religious figures are portrayed, past statements made by actors, or accusations of copying other movies.
