‘Waris Punjab De’ Social organisation to fight for legitimate demands of people of Punjab

‘Waris Punjab De’ Social organisation to fight for legitimate demands of people of Punjab: Film actor Deep Sidhu, who has been involved in the farmers’ struggle since day one against the anti-agriculture laws passed by the Central Government, announced the formation of a social organization called Waris Punjab De to unite the youth of Punjab on one platform.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Sidhu said that by centralizing all the powers of the Central Government, the states have been deprived of their fundamental rights and Punjab is suffering the most due to this policy. The list of betrayals by the Center to Punjab is long and cannot be tolerated now. This struggle will continue till the states get autonomy and fundamental rights.

Punjab’s education system has collapsed and the anti-Punjab policies of the Center have a clear effect that Punjab’s ownership of top administrative posts at the state level in Punjab has been lost and officials from outside the state are ruining the essence of Punjab. The practice of distorting Sikh history and cultural traditions of Punjab in educational institutions is a vicious attack on the psyche of Punjab.

After the sunset of Sarkar-e-Khalsa, the British not only adopted a policy of ‘divide and rule’ politically, but also sowed the seeds of poison in the general culture of a religiously divided Punjab. If we want to make Punjab a blooming state again, then we all have to make a joint effort to change the fate of Punjab by rising above caste division and caste discrimination.

Talking about discrimination against Punjab, Sidhu said that on one hand the supply of water to other states is creating a big problem for the agriculture sector of Punjab and on the other hand it is poisoning the factories run by the government. The fact that there is a region of Punjab known as the Cancer Belt paints a clear picture of Punjab’s betrayal.

Talking about the rampant conversions in Punjab, Mr. Sidhu clarified that of course one has the right to choose the religion of his or her choice, but if the conversion is for greed of health facilities and educational needs of the people, then Sikh religious organizations representing India need to think seriously about this.

Speaking on the cultural importance of Punjab, Mr Sidhu said that the state language of Punjab and mother dialect of Punjabis, Punjabi and Gurmukhi script are being discriminated against and it is a fatal attack on the culture of Punjab. To save the culture of Punjab, every Punjabi has to declare war across the country.

Deep Sidhu clarified that the symbol of this Waris Punjab De, created for social consciousness, is not the attainment of any political position at present, but pressure should be maintained on all political parties in Punjab to protect the culture of Punjab and the rights of Punjab.

In conclusion, Mr. Sidhu appealed to the youth of Punjab that the organization based on the noble concept of ‘Nirbhao Nirvair’ Sikh community will continue its struggle to protect the rights of youth and Punjab. He also appealed to the young brothers and sisters of Punjab to join this platform and fight for the legitimate demands and sovereignty of Punjab.

Talking about farmers struggle Mr. Sidhu said that we have supported honest parties fighting for farmers’ demands but basically this issue is related to the existence of Punjab and needs to be understood and implemented seriously.
