Virtual Interaction on‘Managing news&life of a Journalist: challenges&opportunities’ at GGDSD College

The department of Journalism and Mass Communication , Goswami  Ganesh Dutta  Sanatan  Dharma  College , Sector 32-C, Chandigarh  organised an Online  Session titled ‘Managing News and Life of a Journalist: Challenges and Opportunities’  with Senior Anchor and Executive Editor TV Today Network.  As many as 100 students were sensitised on the realities of journalistic practice.

Mr. Ansari  while interacting  with students said  , “It is very important to learn skills essential to the media industry. One must develop interest in reading and enhance their general knowledge, learn at least two languages and be able to master new technology”.

He added that the life of a journalist is not very different from that of a common person. He or she just has a platform to help other people. He emphasised that to ensure objectivity in news, one should be loyal to one’s country and not to any sub-sect in society.

Mr. Ajay Sharma , Principal of the college highlighted the importance of interaction with industry experts. He said,  “Events like this have an impact of a lifetime on young, impressionable minds. On popular demand, the college is also starting the new graduation course- B.Voc. in Media and Entertainment this year.”

Sr. D.J. Patil, Dean and Director India Today Media Institute said, “The media and entertainment sector is evolving at a fast pace, led by the digital segment. Print media will also regain the lost momentum and several job opportunities will be available in the industry.”
