UGI celebrated World Cancer Day
World Cancer Day was celebrated at Universal Group of Institutions to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection and treatment . As a part of celebration with the objective to create awareness on cancer Guest Lecture on “Cancer Awareness” was organized . Information regarding cancer types, causes and prevention were given to the students .Later, Events like ‘Graffiti’, ‘Fitness Challenge’ and ‘Critical Thinking’ were organized.
Dr. Sapna also educated the students regarding cervix, uterus and breast cancer and along with its preventions. Chairman , UGI , Dr Gurpreet Singhinformed that World Cancer Day was founded by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) to support the goals of the World Cancer Declaration, written in 2008.

The primary goal of the World Cancer Day is to significantly reduce illness and death caused by cancer .He further discussed types of cancers caused by consumption of tobacco products and urged students to bring a change in life-styles.
