‘UDAAN’2022 CSMC media fest concluded with a great success
Punjabi University Patiala lifted the Overall Trophy
Chitkara School of Mass Communication’s (CSMC’s) annual media fest ‘UDAAN ‘concluded with a gala ceremony on Wednesday 19 October 2022. The overall trophy was bagged by the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, Punjabi University, Patiala. Dr. Archna Mantri, Vice Chancellor, and Registrar Dr. SC Sharma gave the awards, trophies, and certificates to the winners and certificates of appreciation to all the participants.
250 students representing various Universities and Colleges and studying in media discipline participated from across India. These were from 15 different academic Institutions including Punjab University, Punjabi University, CT University, Chandigarh University, Kurukshetra University, Doaba College, LPU Jallandhar, PTU Kapurthala, DAV Girls College Yamuna Nagar, CGC Jhanjeri, Government PG College Ambala Cantt, Dev Sanskriti Vishwidyalaya Haridwar, Arya PG College Panipat.
Udaan’s 12th run celebrated creativity, mental agility and numerous talents among aspiring media professionals—-bagged the overall trophy by winning the most number of events. Many events kept up the spirit of the fest including Catch the Glimpse- a Photography competition, Aditivity – An ad designing event, Tickle your Brain- a Quiz competition, and Layout Mania- A page designing competition. There were a few visual events that were the charm of the fest like Documentary, RJ Hunt, and Curtain Call.
In Scribble Pad 1st Prize went to CGC, Jhanjeri whereas DAV College for Girls, Yamuna Nagar got the second prize. The ‘Catch the glimpse’ event was won by Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar, and the second position went to Punjabi University, Patiala.
A student from Doaba College, Jallandhar won the RJ Hunt event and Lovely Professional University, Jallandhar stood second. Punjabi University, Patiala team won first prize in News Flash and Chandigarh University stood second. In the Taza Khabar event, Government PG College, Ambala Cantt got the first position and DAV College for Girls Yamuna Nagar stood second.

In the page designing event, Layout Mania Kurukshetra University won first prize and Chandigarh University got the second position. In the video editing event- Frame Box, the editor from Arya PG College Panipat stood first and Punjabi University Patiala’s student came second.
In the quiz event- Tickle your Brain team of two members from Doaba College Jallandhar came first and students from Government PG College, Ambala Cantt stood as runners up. ‘Tooncature’ (cartoon making) was won by CGC, Jhanjeri, and a cartoonist from Punjabi University, Patiala stood second. In the stage theatre event- Curtain Call, the first position was bagged by students of Chandigarh University, and Punjabi University Patiala’s students came second.

In the Self ‘I’ event DAV College for Girls, Yamuna Nagar got first prize whereas a student from CGC Jhanjeri came second. In collage making- Mismosh competition, a student from Doaba College got first prize whereas a student from CGC Jhanjeri stood second. In the 15th event of Mobile Journalism- MoJO the team of Punjabi University, Patiala won the first position whereas DAV College for Girls Yamuna Nagar stood second.

The fest ‘UDAAN’ was overall a success and in the end, it reinforced the belief that media is one of the most upcoming and responsible professions of tomorrow and also raised the bar for the next fest to be held in Chitkara University.
