Two arrested for consuming liquor at public place
Two different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC have been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh against two persons who were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. Later they bailed out.
This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.
Action against Gambling/Satta
Chandigarh Police arrested Satish Kumar R/o # 3210, Sector-28, Chandigarh, Anil Kumar R/o # 24, Sector-16/A, Chandigarh, Deepak R/o # 1119, Sector-38W, Chandigarh and Ashok Kumar R/o # 1328, Sector-37/B, Chandigarh while they were gambling near Katiyal Building Material, Togan Road, EWS Dhanas and recovered cash Rs. 58,500/- from their possession. A case FIR No. 280, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh. Later all were bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Chandigarh Police arrested 04 ladies all resident of DBC, Sector-25, Chandigarh while they were gambling at # 2674, Dainik Bhaskar Colony, Sector-25, Chandigarh and recovered cash Rs. 4,050/- from their possession. A case FIR No. 325, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Later all were bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Theft
Sh. Mithun Kumar R/o # 1213, Sector-8/C, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away Battery from complainant’s car No. UP-42C-4188 while parked near his house between 04.11.18 to 07.11.18. A case FIR No. 213, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Snatching
A lady resident of Sector 46/C, Chandigarh reported that one unknown Motor Cyclist person snatched complainant’s purse containing cash Rs.500/-, 1 mobile phone near # 3328, Sector-46, Chandigarh on 05.11.2018. A case FIR No. 393, U/S 356, 379 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
A lady resident of Sector 32/D, Chandigarh reported that one unknown Motor Cyclist person snatched complainant’s purse containing cash Rs.3000/-, 2 ATM Cards & 1 mobile phone near S.D Mandir, Sector-32/D, Chandigarh on 05.11.2018. A case FIR No. 394, U/S 356, 379 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Deterred public servant while discharging govt. duty
A case FIR No. 227, U/S 323, 332, 353 IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh on the complaint of SI. Shingara Singh, PCR staff against Santokh R/o # 5638, Maloya Colony, Chandigarh who manhandled and torn uniform of complainant near # 5639, Maloya Colony, Chandigarh on 06.11.2018. Santokh has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 279, U/S 341, 323, 506, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh on the complaint ofSatinder Singh R/o Reena Marble, Village-Dhanas, Chandigarh who alleged that Jorra R/o # 626/A, EWS Colony, Village-Dhanas, Chandigarh, Channa, Monu and Raju ran away after beaten and threatened complainant and his brother namely Harkesh near Fish Market, Village-Dhanas, Chandigarh on 05.11.2018. Complainant’s brother namely Harkesh got injured and admitted in PGI, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
A case FIR No. 323, U/S 341, 323, 324, 506, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh on the complaint of Krishan Kumar R/o Village-Birr Ghagar, Chandi Mandir, Distt.-Panchkula, Haryana who alleged that Naranga Ram, Vivek @ Rinku, Sumit @ Bander, Bittu @ Michal address not known ran away after beaten and threatened complainant near wine shop, Vikas Nagar, Mouli Jagran, Chandigarh on 05.11.2018. Complainant’s got injured and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
