Twitter Brings New ‘Retweet With Comment’ Feature; More Features In Testing Phase

Social Media giant, Twitter has rolled out ‘Retweet with comment’ feature for Android and Web users.

This feature will now allow the user to see how many people Retweeted the tweet with a comment.

This feature was earlier rolled out for IOS users around 10 days ago.

How does It Work?

The users need to click on the Retweets option beneath the tweet.

This will open a new page that will have segregated information of people who Retweeted the tweet with or without comment.

The Company has rolled out this feature so that users can follow and track the conversations easily.

There Is More Coming

Twitter also recently announced that it is working on the feature that will let users to limit the people who can reply to their tweets.

Users will get three options at the lower left side while drafting the tweet.

They will get an option to allow either “everyone”, “people you follow” and “Only people you mention.

Tweets with the latter two settings will be labeled and the reply icon will be grayed out so that it’s clear for people if they can’t reply.

People who can’t reply will still be able to view, Retweet, Retweet with Comment, and like these Tweets.

Trolling and abusing on posts and tweets has become a normal phenomenon on social media.

This updated feature will definitely allow the user to control who replies to their conversation and can revoke people who are nowhere related to the tweet.

Stressing on privacy and security of users on its platform, Twitter on its blog said, “Being able to participate and understand what’s happening is key for useful public conversation.

So, we’re exploring how we can improve these settings to give people more opportunities to weigh in while still giving people control over the conversations they start.
