Primarily film and music industry is considered as a source of mere entertainment but there are few creative people who try to mend this notion and use this medium to convey a strong message. One person who always comes up with something different from the conventional cinema, as different as his first concept in the 2017 super hit, Rabb Da Radio is Tarnvir Singh Jagpal. Now he is coming out with yet new concept in the movie Daana Paani. The whole star cast including the director Tarnvir Singh Jagpal and Cultural Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu has already launched the trailer of the film in a press conference held in Chandigarh on 31st March 2018. Today, it released on Youtube.
Daana Paani is a periodic drama film set in 1962 which stars ace actor Jimmy Shergill, who will play the character of a fauji, Hav. Mehtab Singh, alongside Simi Chahal. The pollywood beauty is playing the character of an oppressed village-girl Basant Kaur. The movie is produced by Nanokey Studios & GK Entertainment in association with Cam-Art Films. The story of the film is written by the award-winning storywriter Jass Grewal. The stellar star cast includes veterans like Gurpreet Ghuggi and Nirmal Rishi and Kanika Mann.
About this movie, the lead actor of the movie Jimmy Shergill said, “We have always heard that everything is already written in our destiny whatever we do and whatever happens with us is planned somewhere by the supreme power. Daana Paani is a story about the destiny that how we meet with someone and then how our destinies intermingle. I am very happy and content that I am a part of this project.”
The leading lady of the film, Simi Chahal said, “This film is the story about a girl and her journey from birth to youth till old age. Since birth I am a strong believer of destiny. When I heard the script the whole concept and novelty of the idea had me hooked. I personally feel the character of Basant Kaur is very relatable and everybody will surely feel it. This is my second film with Jass Grewal and Tarnvir after Rabb da Radio; the vision and clarity they share about a concept is amazing. And working with them is always a wonderful experience.”
The captain of the ship, Tarnvir Singh Jagpal while sharing his experience about the film, said, “This is just a second film of mine after Rabb da Radio but the response audience showered on that film makes me feel more responsible. The gap I took between both these films was only because I wanted to give out my best. I want to be able to fulfill the expectations of people they have on me. Now I just hope people feel our hard work and shower their love.”
“We’ve crafted a rarely seen and compelling look at life in Punjab on the cusp of so much change in 1962, during the difficulties and tragedies of the Indo-Sino war as its consequences reverberates to those caught in small world thinking and strict ideals of village living . We look forward to bringing this heart-felt story to our audience”, Ranbir Singh Grewal of Nanokey Studios quoted.
