Chandigarh Police celebrated 29th National Road Safety Week-2018 under the theme “Sadak Suraksha–Jeevan Raksha” w.e.f. 23rd to 30th April, 2018. On the last day of the Road Safety Week, today on 30.04.2018 in the morning at 09:00 AM, a special campaign to follow traffic rules was organized at Press Light Point. Sh. Shashank Anand, IPS, SSP–Security & Traffic lead this campaign. Sh. Rajeev Ambasta, DSP-Traffic (South, R & D), Sh. Yashpal Vinayak, DSP-Traffic (Admn. & East), Sh. Dilsher Singh, Inspector (Admn. & Central) Smt. Sita Devi, Inspector (I/C–CTP, Social Media Cell & South-West) , Inspector Sukhdeep Singh (South-East) alongwith other staff of Chandigarh Traffic Police and Traffic Marshals actively participated in the campaign of Road Safety and to follow Traffic Rules.
During campaign, 1200 stickers titled “I will not Honk” were affixed on the steering of the public vehicles, making them aware about the harm of blowing horn unnecessarily and to make the City Honk Free. Apart from this, 200 stickers titled “Helmet saves her head too” were distributed to the female two wheeler riders to make them aware about how the helmet is useful for their safety and security on the roads. 200 stickers titled “Good Driver” were also affixed on the vehicles of those, who appeared to be driving their vehicles by following traffic rules properly. Pamphlets regarding Road Safety were also distributed amongst the public to make them aware about traffic rules and regulations.
