The Narrators Performing Arts Society in association with Kala-Kshetra  organised a Poetic Musical Concert, ‘Ranjish Bandish’ with a contemporary Dance Performance curated, designed and directed by the Founder Director of The Narrators, Nisha Luthra at the Mini Tagore Theater here. The concert based on ‘Raag Yaman’ was a fusion of poetry, music, songs and dance moves on the beats of varied percussion instruments and on tunes of the electric guitar.

Nisha Luthra said,”The evening was curated with poetry leading the event, followed by the songs based on ‘Raag Yaman’ and the presentation  concluded with sacred Sufi dance movements. It was a unique amalgamation of three different art forms with nine artists fusing with finesse and taking the narrative ahead.”

The poems were written and recited by Nisha Luthra, whose book ‘Ranjish’ is coming soon. The songs were sung by the twin singers, Sonika Gahlawat and Monika Gahlawat with the background music of tabla by Rahul Sharma, sitar by Shruti Thakur, and harmonium by Shanty Tamang.

The contemporary dance moves were performed by Sahaya Jeevan, a polarity therapist and a dance move expert, on various percussions played by the award-winning tabla player and composer Avirbhav Verma along with Raffaele Matta, an Italian electric guitar musician.

Raffaele said, “It was really a great experience working with Nisha Luthra and her team. In spite of our different languages, we could create a great fusion with electric guitar and other Indian musical instruments because music has no language.”

Two women achievers  were also awarded for their contribution to society. Mrs. Sunaini Sharma who is a Punjabi folk singer and is promoting rich Punjabi folk culture and Mrs. Bittu Sandhu, who is running an NGO Rani Breast Cancer Trust, were felicitated by former IAS officer, Vivek Atray. The backstage was managed by Lokesh, Arpan Maity operated lights and Rajan Batheja was the show’s Assistant Director. Reeta Rana led the evening ahead as the Master of the Ceremonies.
