Ten individuals lost their lives in a tragic incident on Friday when a passenger taxi plunged into a steep gorge along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh expressed his condolences and stated that he had contacted Deputy Commissioner Ramban Baseer-ul-Haq upon learning of the accident. He emphasized that he remains in constant communication with the authorities regarding the situation.
As many as ten people were killed on Friday after a passenger taxi rolled down a deep gorge on the Jammu and Srinagar National Highway. Union Minister Jitendra Singh said he spoke to Deputy Commissioner Ramban Baseer-ul-Haq after learning about the road accident, adding that he is in constant touch (with the authorities).

The accident occurred in the vicinity of Battery Chashma in the Ramban area. Following the incident, a rescue operation was initiated by the police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and civil Quick Response Team.
Earlier in the day, the Jammu and Kashmir police reported that efforts were underway to rescue those involved in the accident.

“A passenger taxi veered off the road and fell into a deep gorge along the Jammu-Srinagar national highway near Battery Chashma in the Ramban area. The police, SDRF, and civil Quick Response Team from Ramban swiftly responded to the scene, and rescue operations are currently underway,” stated an official from the J&K Police.
Further details regarding the incident are awaited as authorities continue their rescue efforts.
