Nikita Gupta (15), a rising name in the field of writing from a small town Solan in Himachal Pradesh, has been nominated for the ‘Himachal’s Youngest Author’ title. Being an avid reader, Nikita was fascinated towards writing since 9th grade.
“Write. Rewrite. When not writing or rewriting, read. I know of no shortcuts.”
The young author, a student of MRA DAV Public School, Solan, chose ‘Wattpad’, a digital platform to express her views, which got her appreciation from around the world in the form of 2.5 lakh readers and getting her novel in the ‘Top 10’ in her genre. She also got AMAZING AWARD in people’s choice category on ‘wattpad’
“There are no laws for the novel. There never have been, nor can there ever be.”
Her novel – ‘We are imperfectly perfect’, a love-fiction, is about two childhood friends who meet after a gap of nine years and what drastic changes they experience in each other. It is about how their love overcomes the imperfections in their path of being perfect for each other.
Nikita has also set a milestone in the world of poetry with the Chennai based Poetry World Organization’s ‘Salad Days- a Saunter’. Her soon to be published poetry is among the Top 25 entries for anthology in top 160 international libraries and 12 Indian libraries.

The young talent was appreciated by the District Collector of Solan, Mr Rakesh Kanwar (IAS) and SP Solan, Ms Anjum Aara (IPS) for her tremendous contribution in promoting Solan on a world-level. Recently, she has also grabbed THE STATE AWARD for her much appreciated work.
Ms Vidya Stokes, Irrigation and Public Health Minister, Himachal Pradesh, highly praised her talent at such a tender age and immensely promoted her. Mr Thakur Singh Bharmouri, Forest Minister, Himachal Pradesh rewarded her and encouraged her to take this talent further.
The Minister of Technical Education, Transport and Industrial Training, Himachal Pradesh, was also awed with the girl’s work and supported her greatly in all her endeavors.
The young author is going to hold talk shows and seminars on different themes in 25 universities and colleges around various states in India. Her initiative is completely targeted towards encouraging and inspiring the hidden talents of the youth.
Further, she is also coming up with her new novel, which is emphasized on conveying the message to the young talent. She is working actively with several NGOs to take the talent of India to the next level.
The young girl says that she is really thankful and grateful to her parents Mrs Ruchi Gupta and Mr Vinay Gupta, a business couple, for always being the pillar of strength in her journey. Not only this, she also gives credit for her success to her teachers and family who made her confident and gave her opportunities for showcasing her talent.
