Talk on Role of Biomarkers in Liver Carcinoma held at SD College
Zoology Department of GGDSD College organized a talk on “Role of Biomarkers in risk prediction and progression of Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) related Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)”. Professor, Biochemistry Department, PGIMER, Dr. Jyotdeep Kaur, was the speaker on the occasion.
Dr. Jyotdeep discussed about the HBV infection, depredation of HCC, early diagnosis and identification of potential targets of therapeutic interventions through the aid of biomarkers. He said “HBV infection is one of the major risk factors for the development of HCC in the world. The disease itself ranks 6th most commonly occurring cancer worldwide.”
