Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri celebrated National Girl Child Day with great enthusiasm with a view to promote “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” mission . On this occasion, the girls belonging to average families but having scaled enviable heights due to their self-confidence, dedication & determination were invited in the campus & were honoured. During their active interaction with the students, these ladies shared the stories of their struggle with upcoming engineers & managers of tomorrow.
The function started with the history narrated by Anupreet Kaur, PCS. She said that although Civil Services Examination is not a cakewalk, yet her determination to crack it bear fruit one day. She added that her failures & weaknesses made her learn how to fight against them. .Aman Hundal a fast growing Punjabi actress said that her father was deadly against her becoming a model or an actress, but she got full support from her mother. Finally when she got established as a successful actor, her father also started appreciating her talents. Afsana Khan, a well known singer, started her carrier with the song “Jugni” sung by her in the live TV singing reality show competition “Rising Star”.
She struggled hard to keep on improving singing caliber & side by side fought against the miseries & hardships faced by her family. Pooja Sangwan belongs to the family of a Kargil war hero, who made supreme sacrifice for the nation, is a spots person. Her base game is swimming. Later she developed interest in Rowing. With her consistent practice & efforts, she has won a large number of gold, silver & bronze medals.
Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC honoured all the celebrities with momentous. Dr. G.D.Bansal, Director General advised the students to learn from the rich & motivating experience of these girls.
