After announcing the start with scrutiny of the vehicles and Super Spectator Stage (SSS) set up, the 31st Annual Sub-Himalayan SJOBA (St John’s Old Boys’ Association)Rally was flagged off today morning from St John’s High School, Sec 26 here. The enthusiastic riders and drivers in 40 cars including jeeps and 24 bikes were all pumped up to embark on the adventurous route.
The flag off ceremony witnessed presence of all the members of St. John’s Old Boys Association (SJOBA). A cake cutting ceremony was also done to give a memorable start to the rally.
From St John’s High School, Sector-26,the rally took the route towards Mallah – Bhojnagar , Kangar Dilman , Dilman – Sultanpur , Ashnikhad – Jhajha stopped over for lunch at Chail Palace and finally reached Chalanda – Koti Village , Koti Resorts.
“I would like to congratulate all the courageous and adventurous riders on successful commencement of rally. It is a matter of joy for team SJOBA which has been continuing and will keep on continuing this legacy for times to come”, said Sandeep Sahni, President SJOBA.
The second day of the rally will take the following route Purani Koti – Baldeyan , Kiarkoti – Kamyana , Chalanda – Koti Village , Jhajha – Ashnikhad & will ultimately reach the Flag In point at the School again.
The completion of rally will be signalled by a prize distribution function in Chandigarh Club on April 15, to honor the riders who, after two days of their adventurous toil will be back in the city.
