Step-by-Step School, Noida, declared Best Delegation to Bhavan’s Model United Nations
The three-days Bhavan Vidyalaya Chandigarh Model United Nations (BVCMUN’19), concluded here at a high note with over 450 students from 61 schools of India, Dubai and Qatar, discussing strategies to build a better world.
Ms Mia Yen, Consul General of Canada, who was the chief guest, said that the world, their country, parents, and teachers look towards educated Indian youth to be better, kind, successful, and impactful in carving a better and brighter future for the country.
Commenting on the excellent participation by the young delegates in replicating the United Nations trying to find answers to numerous pressing issues and restore peace and security, Ms Mia Yen said that it is possible to resolve them through dialogue by building better understanding amongst nations.
Mia Yen who had herself participated in a similar Model United Nations at UN headquarter during college days, remarked that this is a cathedral of diverse nations and understanding its working gives hope for banishing gender inequality, climate change, poverty and hunger, from the world.
Chairman of Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan and former world president of Rotary International Rajendra K Saboo congratulated the delegates for their participation and understanding different perspective to the world problems by representing a different country than their own, and trying to debate to find solutions.
This experience will stay with you forever and maybe you will become an instrument of change for a a better world, he added.
