State Level Pre-RD Selection Camp 2021
Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College Sector 32-C, Chandigarh hosted State Level Pre-RD Selection Camp for NSS volunteers on 20th September , 2021 in association with NSS Regional Directorate, Chandigarh and Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.
NSS volunteers from various Colleges/Universities from Chandigarh appeared for the selection. The process started with registration and allotment of chest numbers to volunteers from different institutions of Chandigarh which was followed by Body measurement and checking of Flat foot of the Volunteers. After the endurance test through field running, the volunteers took part in the parade. Volunteers selected at this round were checked for their skills of giving commands to the contingent and those who were able to beat the line were qualified for the cultural round followed by lunch.
The cultural round was a showcase of performing arts ranging from poetry on Swachh Bharat/Atmanirbhar Bharat, Folk Songs of Bengal and Uttarakhand, Classical Singing with musical instruments and a play depicting the plight of senior citizens. Volunteers exhibited India’s diversity in dances ranging from Himachali Naati, Punjabi Bhangra and Gidda, Rajasthani Ghoomar and folk dances of Maharashtra.
After the cultural events, students were checked for their knowledge about National Service Scheme (NSS) through personal interviews.
NSS Regional Director, Madam Harinder Kaur motivated the volunteers for winning the NSS awards and urged them to come forward for social causes. She also informed them about the forth coming PRE-RD Camp.
