Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 04 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 04 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 04 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All accused later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-03 = 1 case, PS-11 = 1 case, PS-17 = 1 case, PS-34 = 1 case. This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

One arrested under NDPS Act

Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Ankit R/o # 7, Milk Colony, Dhanas, Chandigarh, near turn Milk Colony Road, Dhanas, Chandigarh and recovered 4 gram of Heroin from his possession. A case FIR No. 119, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

Sh. Ram Darshan, Care Taker, PG Govt. College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away Heritage Bell from the roof top of Physics Department,  PG Govt. College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 134, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

 One arrested for wrongfully confinement

        A case FIR No. 143, U/S 342 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sh. Rajiv Kumar, Bailiff, Distt. Court, Sector 43, Chandigarh against Jatinder @ Kiwi R/o # 701, Sector-8/B, Chandigarh who wrongfully confined complainant at ABS Hotel, SCO No. 6, Sector 26, Chandigarh on 02.05.2018. Accused has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Dowry Death

A case FIR No. 144, U/S 304-B, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sh. Kailash R/o # 730/4, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh against  Babbi, Bunty, Gulshan and others all R/o # 729/10, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh who harassed to complainant’s daughter Kiran to bring more dowry. Kiran dead body was found at said residence on 02.05.2018. Later accused namely Gulshan, Bunty and Bubby have been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Sh. Sant Singh R/o # 333, Ph-1, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away his Activa Scooter No. CH-01AN-9130 while parked near his residence on night intervening 01/02.05.2018. A case FIR No. 145, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A lady resident of Sector-41/B, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away her Activa Scooter No. CH-01AQ-9183 while parked near her residence. A case FIR No. 187, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Burglary

        Sh. Harnek Singh R/o # 1390/1, Mori Gate, Mani Majra, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen cash Rs. 3,000/-, one gold necklace and some silver jewelry from his residence on 02.05.2018. A case FIR No. 202, U/S 380, 457 IPC has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 83, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh on the complaint of Tarlochan Singh R/o # 2813/2, Sector-47, Chandigarh against lady driver of Etios car No. CH01AQ6894 who hit to complainant’s Scooter No. CH03M9970 near light point, Sector-49/50, Chandigarh on 15.03.2018. Complainant was got injured and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Cheating

A case FIR No. 132, U/S 420, 120-B IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh on the complaint of a lady resident of Sector 38(W), Chandigarh against Raj Paul and Others. Complainant alleged that Sh. Raj Paul, Sh. Ajay Nagpal & his wife, Sh. Harbant Singh Bajwa all cheated complainant regarding sale of property i.e. H.No.3099, Sector 37-D Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
