Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 11 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.
In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 11 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 11 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All accused later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-11 = 1 case , PS-Sarangpur = 1 case, PS-17 = 1 case , PS-26 = 1 case , PS-IA = 1 case, PS-MM = 1 case , PS-MJ= 3 cases & PS-IT Park = 2 cases. This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.
One arrested under NDPS Act
Chandigarh Police arrested Kuldeep Singh R/o 2193/9, PWT, Manimajra, Chandigarh, near Kacha Rasta ground near Gurudwara, Manimajra, Chandigarh on 24-04-2017 and recovered 4 gram of smack from his possession. A case FIR No. 177, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Action against obstructing public way
A case FIR No. 75, U/S 283 IPC has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh against Saroj Khan R/o # 306, Khokha market, Ph-1, Mohali (PB) who was arrested from backside of GMCH House Complex, Sector 48, Chandigarh, while he was running Rehri/Fari at public place and obstructing public way. Accused later on bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
A case FIR No. 76, U/S 283 IPC has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh against Sonu Khan R/o Village Bhanpur, Dsitt Rampur (UP) who was arrested near Advocate Society, Sector 49, Chandigarh, while he was running Rehri/Fari at public place and obstructing public way. Accused later on bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Sh. Paramvir Singh R/o Village Malli, Distt. Kapurthala (PB) reported that unknown person stolen away 2 laptops from Room No. 5/38, Hostel No. 1, Panjab University, Chandigarh on 23-04-2018. A case FIR No. 121, U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Burglary
Sh. Lalit Mittal R/o Plot No. 55, Ph-1, Ind. Area, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen DVR Camera, LG Monitor & ACoutlet from his plot on night intervening 23/24-04-2018. A case FIR No. 116, U/S 380, 457 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Ramesh Chand Bhateja, Excise and Taxation Officer, Excise and Taxation Deptt., Chandigarh against Ajmer Singh R/o H.No. 2259/1,Sector-37/C, Chandigarh who defrauded and cheated Sunny Sayal and his Partners M/s Mavricks Gastronomy, Plot No.24, Ph-1, Ind. Area, Chandigarh on account of his false representation in providing the fake liquor permits/license. Investigation of the case is in progress.
