Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 17 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.
In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 17 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 17 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All accused later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-03 = 4 cases, PS-11 = 1 cases, PS-Sarangpur = 1 case, PS-26 = 1 case, PS-IA= 2 cases, PS-31 = 2 cases, PS-36 = 3 cases, PS-39 = 2 cases & PS-Maloya = 1 case.
This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.
Two arrested for Burglary
Sh. Devinder Kumar R/o Plot No. 150, Ph-2, Ind. Area, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away one laptop, cash Rs. 88,828/- and some documents from said plot on night intervening 28/29-03-2018. A case FIR No. 140, U/S 380, 457 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Later accused namely Jatinder Singh R/o # 371/2, Sector 41-D, Chandigarh age 28 years and Jitender Kumar R/o # 229, Bair Majra Colony, Ph-6, Mohali (PB) age 30 years, have been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Two arrested for using fake number plate
Chandigarh Police arrested Munish R/o # 125, Village Badheri, Chandigarh and Shubham R/o # 552, Sector 40A, Chandigarh near Krishna Market, Sector 41, Chandigarh while using fake Registration number CH-01BE-1735 on TVS Jupiter Scooter. In this regard, a case FIR No. 126, U/S 473 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Missing/abducted
A person resident of Sector 39, Chandigarh reported that his daughters age about 16 years and 20 years have been missing/kidnapped from residence since 27.03.2018. A case FIR No. 123, U/S 363 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Foetus found
A case FIR No. 68 U/S 318 IPC has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh against unknown person who left 3 months foetus in Sewrage chamber, EWS Colony, Dhnas, Chandigarh on 29.03.2018. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 111, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sh. Ram Parshad R/o # 506, Sector-22A, Chandigarh who alleged that driver of Car No. HR-22H-0050 hit to Complainant’s M/Cycle No. CH-034(T)-9414 near Brahma Kumari Ashram, Sector 33, Chandigarh on 08.11.2017. A case FIR No. 70, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh on the complaint of a girl resident of Maloya, Chandigarh against driver of Car No. CH-04H-1167 who sped away after hitting to Complainant’s Activa Scooter near Snehalya, Maloya, Chandigarh on 28.03.2018. Complainant’s sister (pillion rider) got injured and admitted in GH-16, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 101, U/S 279, 332, 353 added 307 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh on the complaint of Const. Jaswinder Singh, IRB against driver of Car No. CH-12(T)-8109 who sped away ater hitting to Complainant while discharging his duty at dividing road, Sector 22/35, Chandigarh on 28.03.2018. Later accused namely Gaurav Kathuria R/o # 3251, 2nd floor, Sector 46C, Chandigarh has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Adani Group’s billionaire Chairman Gautam Adani and his nephew Sagar have been issued summons over US Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) allegation about paying $250 million (over ₹2,200 crore) in bribes.
