Shoolini among top 3 young universities of the country
After being ranked number 1 private university in the country by Times Higher Education (THE) as well as Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), Shoolini University has added another feather to its cap by figuring among the top three young universities of the country as per the THE Young University Rankings 2023 announced .
Universities which have been established over the last 50 years figure in the category and 13-year old Shoolini University has become eligible to participate in rankings for the first time this year.
Public sector Mahatma Gandhi University has been ranked number one while JSS Academy has been ranked number 2 followed by Shoolini University. These are the only 3 universities from India who are in the top 100 world list. While Mahatma Gandhi University has been ranked 77th, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research has been ranked 79th and Shoolini University at 91st.
JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research had topped the list last year with IIT Ropar getting 81st rank and IIT Indore placed at 86th rank. This year IIT Ropar has slipped to the band of 101-150 rankings.
Out of 655 universities ranked globally, only 45 Indian institutions could figure in the list. Last year, out of 539 universities ranked globally, only 40 Indian institutions could figure in the list.
Chancellor Prof PK Khosla said to make a debut in the Young Universities list and figure among top three universities of the country in this category was a matter of great pride. He said the consistency with which the university was being recognised the world over would propel the university to do even better in future.
Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla said that the string of laurels brought by Shoolini University should serve as an inspiration to other universities to excel. He congratulated the staff and students for contributing to the success story of the university.
Incidentally Shoolini has outshone in every THE rankings including the World Universities, Subject Rankings, Asia and now the Young Universities rankings.
The universities are judged across all their core missions – teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook – to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons available.
Gautam Adani, nephew Sagar summoned by US SEC over 2,200 cr-bribery case
Adani Group’s billionaire Chairman Gautam Adani and his nephew Sagar have been issued summons over US Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) allegation about paying $250 million (over ₹2,200 crore) in bribes. The duo has been asked to respond within 21 days, as per the notice sent via a US court. The summons were sent to their residences in Ahmedabad.

A terminal at London’s Gatwick Airport has been evacuated due to a security threat. “Safety and security of our passengers and staff remains our top priority. Congress wins all 3 seats in Karnatka by-polls
Congress candidates registered wins on all three seats which went for by-polls in Karnatka. Pathan Yasirahmedkhan won from Shiggaonwith margin of 13,448 votes, defeating BJP’s Bharath Bommai, E Annapoorna won from Sandur with margin of 9,649 votes defeating BJP’s Bangara Hanumantha. CP Yogeeshwara won from Channapatna with margin of 25,413 votes defeating HD Kumaraswamy’s son Nikhil Kumaraswamy.
