Scintillating Sitar recital by Bhairavi to mark 25th WeBaithak of the Kendra:- After completion of 24 soulful and melodic editions of the weekly webaithaks , every Friday , 8:00 pm on Pracheen Kala Kendra’s Facebook and Twitter Page and also on its official YouTube Channel, today Kendra presented its 25th Webaithak studded with Sitar recital of young and talented Patiala based Sitarist Dr. Bhairavi Bhatt.
Bhairvi Bhatt is one of the most talented and versatile Sitar player. The first instance of her playing the instrument began much before she could actually walk. Her tutelage, in its infancy, was started by none other than his father Pt. Manmohan Sharma, a great Sitar player himself & Pt. Satish chandra shrivastav (Disple of Pt.Ravi Shankar ji).Currently She is receiving training from Pt. Harvinder Sharma Ji (Disciple of Ustad Vilayat Khan sahib). Over the recent years, Bhairvi had made a mark for herself and appears frequently as a soloist throughout India. Bhairvi won appreciative award and prizes at almost all levels of participation. The most memorable and prestigious one was achieving the first position at the 130th Harballabh Sangeet Sammelan at Jalandhar. Also, she got first position at National Inter-Varsity Competition and National Yuva Utsav Competition in Instrumental Sitar.

Bhairavi commenced with the quiet dignity of the methodical and reposeful alap in Raga Yaman. This was followed by jod-alap and jod-jhala in Vilambit & Madya laya respectively, which were a variant of the usual Sitar playing. Her touch, strokes, glides and subsequent production of tonal and microtonal effects points to her sound training. She then moved on to present drut (fast) composition were set to teen taal. Bhairavi concluded her recital with jhala . She was accompanied by her husband & talented Tabla player Madhuresh Bhatt on Tabla.
