Sakat Chauth 2022: Date, Time & Method Of Worship: The festival, also known as Ganesh Chauth, Sankashti Chaturthi, Maghi Chauth and Tilakuta, is the worship of Lord Ganesha by mothers praying for the safety and long life of her children.
New Delhi: Sakat Chauth or Sankat Chauth, observed by women, fasting for the wellbeing of her children, will be celebrated on January 21 this year.
The festival, also known as Ganesh Chauth, Sankashti Chaturthi, Maghi Chauth, Lambodar Sankashti and Tilakuta, is the worship of Lord Ganesha by mothers praying for the safety and long life of her children.
When is sakat chauth in 2022 :Date and time (Shubh Muhurat)
According to the Hindu calendar, the Sakat Chauth will be celebrated on January 21 (Friday) this year. The ritual can be started from 8.51am on January 21 and the auspicious time would end at 9.41am on January 22 (Saturday).
Chaturthi Tithi starts: January 21 (Friday) at 8.51am
Chaturthi Tithi ends: January 22 (Saturday) at 9.41am
Moonrise Time: January 21 around 9pm
Method of worship (Puja Vidhi)

After getting up in the morning, take a bath and wear clean clothes
Worship Lord Ganesha by the Shodshopachar method and keep chanting his verses
Offer flowers to the god and start the day-long fast. If there is any health-related problem, observe the fast while having fruits
While observing the fast throughout the day, keep chanting the name of Lord Ganesha in your mind
After sunset, take a bath and wear clean clothes before worshipping again
Fill an urn with water and keep it near the worship place and start the rituals after lighting an incense lamp

Offer sesame-jaggery, sugarcane, sweet potato, and remember to add jaggery and ghee to the offering

Keep the offering in a bamboo nugget and leave it in front of the God throughout the night
After performing aarti, offer the ‘bhog’ and the water to the moon and pray for the happiness and wellbeing of the children while reciting the story of Maghi Chaturthi
After the ritual is over, distribute the puja offerings to everyone present
