Rotary initiates country-wide blood donation drive for safe blood

Rotary Clubs in India have initiated the move to promote safe and voluntary blood donation by holding blood donation camps around the country on 1st of July.
Ist of July is the first day of the new leadership in Rotary to take charge of their respective clubs, district and even at the international level, informed Rtn Pres. P S Matharoo, whose one year terms started today.

We have received overwhelming response from our Rotarians, Rotaractors, and various youngsters, many of whom are first-timers, but were enthusiastic and passionate about donating blood and saving a life, Pres Matharoo said.
This is expected to become a Guinness World Record for massive blood donation drive throughout the country in one day, he said.
40 units of blood were collected a   Rotary Blood Bank Society Resource Centre, Sector 37, Chandigarh here today.
There is growing demand for safe blood in the tricity area, and we at the Rotary blood bank are providing state-of-the-art service to the community by meeting the need, informed Rtn. Dr Manish Rai, Director of the blood bank who himself donated blood.
Pres Matharoo, and his team would be formally installed on 5th of July at a function at CII where the Advisor to the Administrator UT Chandigarh, Mr Parimal Rai, IAS, shall be the chief guest, Club Secretary Rtn Sartaj Lamba informed.
