In a heartwarming event, the 13 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldiers, in collaboration with the Rotaract District 3080, Brahmakumaris, NCC Students from Chandigarh University celebrated the festival of Rakshabandhan with great enthusiasm. The event, held in the premises of the 13 Battalion CRPF in Sector 43, Chandigarh, was marked by the tying of Rakhis, tree plantation, and messages of security and self-reliance.

Battalion Commandant Mrs. Kamal Sisodia addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significance of Rakshabandhan and the unwavering commitment of the CRPF to the nation’s security. “CRPF is the security guard of the nation. We are always ready to protect our citizens till our last breath and will not hesitate to sacrifice our lives for the country. From internal security and law and order to handling riots, elections, natural disasters, terrorism, and Naxalism, CRPF is fully capable of dealing with any challenge,” she said.

Youth-leader of Rotaract Clubs, District Rotaract Representative Rtr. Shashank Kaushik shared “In the wake of the horrific rape and murder case of a young girl in Kolkata, this amazing Rakshabandhan event organized by Rotaractors with CRPF instills positivity and a sense of security. It makes the Jawans feel respected, the girls feel safe, and the boys who conceptualized this event set an example that we are all standing united against the evildoers in society.”

Commandant Sisodia also delivered a powerful message to the women of the country, encouraging them to join the security forces and take charge of their own and the nation’s safety. Referring to the recent brutal rape and murder of a female trainee in Kolkata’s R.G. Kar Medical College, she urged women to practice self-defense and contribute to the upliftment of women across the country.

Following the address, women from Brahmakumaris and Rotaract clubs tied Rakhis to the CRPF soldiers, expressing their deep appreciation for the soldiers’ sacrifices and contributions to the country’s security. In return, the soldiers pledged to continue ensuring the safety of women.

The event also included a tree plantation drive within the premises, symbolizing growth, protection, and a commitment to environmental sustainability. Additionally, Brahmakumaris conducted a yoga and meditation session for all attendees, promoting mental well-being and peace.

On this occasion, Mrs. Kamal Sisodia, Commandant, 13th Battalion, Mr. Parminder Singh Nijjar, Second Command Officer, Mrs. Neelam Kaninwal, Deputy Commandant, Mr. Suresh Kumar, Deputy Commandant, Mr. Munish Koondel, Assistant Commandant, Mrs. Rajeshwari Devi, Assistant Commandant, Brahmakumari Kavita, Youth-Leader DRR Rtr. Shashank Kaushik,Mr. Nitin Kapoor, President, R.C. Chandigarh, Mid Town, Rishabh and members of Rotaract, students from various universities were present.

The event concluded with Commandant Sisodia extending her congratulations and best wishes to all the participants, including the dignitaries, university students, and Rotaract members who made the event a success.
