Rocky Mountain National Park announces summer seasonal Hiker Shuttle operations begin May 26

Starting on May 26, 2023, the Hiker Shuttle service will be available at Rocky Mountain National Park for the summer season. The service will run seven days a week from May 26 to September 4, and on Saturdays and Sundays only from September 9 to October 22. The shuttle will transport passengers from the Estes Park Visitor Center to the Park and Ride Transit Hub on Bear Lake Road, where they can transfer to the Bear Lake or Moraine Park shuttles to reach their desired destinations and trailheads.

To use the Hiker Shuttle, passengers must have a reservation for Hiker Shuttle Tickets and a park entrance pass. Reservations can be made on Recreation.gov, with rolling windows for future months opening on June 1. Passengers may reserve one Hiker Shuttle reservation per day and a reservation is good for one to four Hiker Shuttle Tickets. There is a $2 processing fee for each reservation. Additional reservations may be available online at Recreation.gov starting at 5 p.m. the night before the chosen arrival date. Space on the bus is limited, so passengers are encouraged to reserve only the number of seats they need.

Passengers returning to Estes Park can board any Hiker Shuttle bus throughout the day, but the last shuttle departs from the Park and Ride Transit Hub at 6 p.m. It is important to plan accordingly and return to Park & Ride well before 6 p.m. If passengers miss the last bus of the day, there are no other buses or public transit back to Estes Park.
