Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate from Sri Anandpur Sahib, Dr. Subhash Sharma, has cautioned the Punjabis from Aam Aadmi Party and Congress, terming both these parties as two sides of the same coin, who have come together not for the welfare of Punjab but with the aim of stopping Prime Minister Narendra Modi and hiding their corruption.
Addressing an intellectual conference organized here, Dr. Sharma said that AAP and Congress are playing a friendly match in Punjab, while they are together in Delhi, Haryana and Chandigarh. Attacking Congress, Dr. Sharma said that for the last four days, the case of torture of AAP MP Swati Maliwal in Kejriwal’s house has become a topic of discussion in the entire country, but Rahul Gandhi and no leader from Punjab Congress has not spoken on this serious matter. He added that what is surprising is that Priyanka, the daughter of the Gandhi family, who took out a march on women’s issues in Uttar Pradesh, is also mute on this serious issue.
Speaking at election meetings held at several places in Nawanshahr, Dr. Sharma said that today, in Punjab, people are supporting Modi in cities as well as villages because everyone is extremely impressed by his works. He said that the Shri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor was opened only due to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “The entire country now celebrates December 26 as Veer Bal Diwas in memory of the martyrdom of the sons of the tenth Sikh Guru Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji”, he further said, while adding that this is the first time that the Sikh community has been given so much respect by an Indian Prime Minister.
Speaking on the issue of the farmers, Dr. Sharma said that the Modi government has done maximum work for the farmers, which includes increasing the number of crops coming under MSP from three to five. He also said that apart from this Modi government is also giving Rs. 6,000 to each farmer in the country every year. Alerting the farmer brothers of Punjab, Dr. Sharma said that Congress and Aam Aadmi Party are playing with the emotions of innocent farmers and instigating them against Modi and BJP. He said that this time farmers should support the BJP, instead of supporting other parties, so that Punjab can progress rapidly in the agriculture sector.
Today, the public support received by the BJP candidate during his whirlwind election campaign remained a topic of discussion in the Sri Anandpur Sahib constituency.
