PM distributes e-property cards to 1.71 lakh beneficiaries in Madhya Pradesh
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday distributed e-property cards to over 1,71,000 beneficiaries of 3,000 villages in Madhya Pradesh under the “SVAMITVA” scheme, saying the scheme would vector growth of rural India.
Addressing the beneficiaries, PM Modi said the mantra for rapid and integrated development of villages and their modernisation could be possible by harnessing technology.
The Svamitva scheme will save villagers from borrowing money from third parties and now, on the basis of their property papers, they will get loans from banks to enhance their financial strength. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister
To this effect, he said drones have emerged as a vital cog. He called upon scientists, engineers, software developers and start-up entrepreneurs to come forward to make low-cost drones in India. The Union Government has started a PLI scheme to facilitate this.
“Drones have the capability to take India to new heights,” in the context of use of drones being used for various purposes, including implementation of the scheme.
“Svamitva”, a Central scheme, entails survey of village population and mapping with improvised technology aims to provide property rights to residents in rural areas. The surveys of villages and properties have been accomplished in 60 districts across the country.
The PM, who also interacted with the beneficiaries, said the Swamitva scheme, which is implemented by the Panchayat Raj Ministry, would usher in a new dawn of development in villages and empowerment of the residents. The property cards, which are official certification of ownership of property, can be used as a financial asset to procure bank loans and other financial benefits.

Modi said the scheme was launched as a pilot project in parts of selected villages, including Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. About 22 lakh property cards have been processed and made ready for distribution. Now the scheme is being implemented across the country.

To dedicate 35 oxygen plants to nation today
PM Narendra Modi will dedicate to the nation 35 Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) oxygen plants established under PM CARES across 35 states and union territories in an event to be held at AIIMS Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, on Thursday. With this, all districts of the country will now have commissioned PSA oxygen plant.
