A one of a kind Plus size beauty pageant ‘Ms. Plus Size North India 2018 Season – 2’ was held. The beauty pageant was organised by Hardeep Arora, a renowned pageant organiser & Reality dance show ‘Boogie Woogie’ winner and Mr. Binod Kumar from Daksha Digitas.
“This event was curated for all those ladies who want to become models but their extra weight comes in the way of their dreams. This show helped breaking the stereotype of social standards of being perfect and in a certain shape – which is tall and skinny .” Said Hardeep Arora.
As many as 52 plus size models took part in the pageant and displayed their beauty & calibre in different aspects. The function was graced by the first British Asian plus size model & Brand Ambassador of E-bay, Bishamber Das, she is also brand ambassador of ‘Ms Plus Size North India 2018’. Bishamber judged the pageant along-with Mrs. India Worldwide 2014 Aman Grewal, Rita Gangwani, grooming expert, popular anchor & actress Satinder Satti and dietican Simrat Kathuria.
Shivani won Miss the Plus Size North India 2018 Season – 2 Title, Kranti Guleria was First Runner Up whereas Second Runner up position was taken by Sameera. The titles of Face of Excellence award went to Sanjana.
The finale was conducted in 3 rounds. The first round was of ethnic wear & this witnessed the plus size models sashaying down the ramp in beautiful Indian attires which showcased the rich culture of India. The second round saw the models wearing Western designer wear created by the famous Plus size clothing brand Xxllent , this round also witnessed an introduction by the contestants. Evening gowns round was the final one and the models looked their ravishing best in this.
Bishamber Das said, “I am elated at the way the pageant was conducted. It was a professional show and I am happy that Plus Size pageants are coming into their own in India. In the West the Plus Size clothing & products’ industry is booming and it’s now India’s turn. The contestants conducted themselves with elan & confidence, it was an impressive show by them.”
It is pertinent to mention that before the finale the contestants went through a 3 days grooming session at WelcomHotel Bella Vista, Panchkula. During the second day there was a professional photoshoot for contestnts . On the third day an elite session was conducted by Hardeep Arora.
