Pink Turban Campaign & Candle Light Vigil for promoting Rights & Dignity of Girls & Women held at Plaza
As a part of 13th Global Youth Peace Fest, Pink Turban Campaign & Candle Light Vigil for promoting Rights & Dignity of Girls & Women was held at Sector 17 Plaza on Monday evening.
The International Participants participated in the Pink Turban Campaign and Candle Light Vigil on eve of Gandhi Jayanti. Female participants wore wear pink turbans and males wore pink stoles on the occasion.
Pramod Sharma of Yuvsatta informed, Turban (Pagri) is a symbol of honour and respect in all the regions where it is a practice to wear one, especially in north India with worst kind of sex ratio and cases of female foeticide. And pink colour represents compassion, nurturing and love. It relates to unconditional love and understanding, and the giving and receiving of nurturing.
He said, in colour psychology, pink is a sign of hope. It is a positive colour inspiring warm and comforting feelings, a sense that everything will be okay. So, the idea was to use Turban and Pink Colour to give a clear and strong message of ‘RISING GIRLS & EMPOWERED WOMEN’.
The participants were seen holding posters with messages of women empowerment mentioned on them. The message was conveyed well through sketches and drawings on gender equality. Even shoppers and passersby joined the cause and were seen holding the posters in support of global concern for respect for the women.

Adani Group’s billionaire Chairman Gautam Adani and his nephew Sagar have been issued summons over US Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) allegation about paying $250 million (over ₹2,200 crore) in bribes. Congress wins all 3 seats in Karnatka by-polls
Congress candidates registered wins on all three seats which went for by-polls in Karnatka. Pathan Yasirahmedkhan won from Shiggaonwith margin of 13,448 votes, defeating BJP’s Bharath Bommai, E Annapoorna won from Sandur with margin of 9,649 votes defeating BJP’s Bangara Hanumantha. CP Yogeeshwara won from Channapatna with margin of 25,413 votes defeating HD Kumaraswamy’s son Nikhil Kumaraswamy.
