OPEN HOUSE BECOMES MORE OPEN WITH TIME BOUND GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL
Sh. V P Singh Badnore, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator U.T, Chandigarh chaired the meeting today in the presence of Sh. A K Gupta, IAS, Home Secretary, Sh. Ajoy Kumar Sinha, IAS, Finance Secretary Chandigarh Administration, Sh. J M Balamurugan, IAS, Secretary to the Governor, today at U.T Secretariat.
The Administrator announced that in order to make the grievance redressal process more efficient, grievances received via different mediums will be addressed as and when the Administrator visits U.T. Secretariat. These Steps have been taken to resolve the grievances are as follows
- Online
Citizens can share their grievances on the official online portal of Raj Bhawan, www.punjabrajbhavan.gov.in. Such online grievances will be taken up for redressal and the status of addressal can be ascertained by citizens themselves and also monitored centrally. SMS alert facility will also be provided to citizens.
- Open House Complaint Box
The Administrator announced that going beyond the open house meetings, from now onwards, an Administrator’s Open House Complaint Box will be kept in the U.T. Secretariat at Sector-9 Chandigarh, wherein people can drop in their grievances, suggestions/feedback in the form of letters. The grievances of the people obtained from the box will be taken up by the officers of the respective Department on a daily basis. The matter will be taken up by the Hon’ble Administrator for proactive redressal of the grievance with the complainant only if not addressed by the concerned department.
Sh. VP Singh Badnore shared that earlier, the open house meeting used to be fixed in advance, but now with this move, people can share their grievances anytime. All these grievances will be solved in a stipulated time after examination in concerned Department. The grievances that will stand unresolved will be taken up in the Open House meetings whenever Administrator visits UT Secretariat.
During the meeting held today, the Administrator addressed the issues of various associations and individuals and ensured that the work in their respective areas will be taken up and completed soon. In response to the Rights of people with disability rules, the Administrator stated that steps are being taken to make the City, disabled friendly. Other issues which came up for hearing today were regarding Dogs Management and industries. Sh. Pankaj Khanna, President, Sh. Arun Mahajan, Hony. Secretary, Sh. S.S Sarkaria, Joint Secretary, and Siddharth Gupta, Treasurer from the newly formed team of the Industries Association Chandigarh discussed their grievances with the Administrator. He has also desired that citizens shall give more and more suggestions and feedbacks to make Chandigarh an ideal City to live.
Sh. K K Yadav, IAS, Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Sh. Jitender Yadav, IAS, MD Citco, Sh. Santosh Kumar, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forests, Sh. Rakesh Kumar Popli, PCS, Director Public Relations, were also present in the meeting.
