Noida International Institute of Medical Sciences (NIIMS) Medical College & Hospital’s Department of Community Medicine celebrated World Health Day 2025 under the leadership of Dr. Ranjana Singh, Head of the Department, with great enthusiasm and academic engagement. The theme, “Healthy Beginning – Hopeful Future,” set the tone for a vibrant celebration involving quiz competitions, poster presentations, and creative rangoli displays.

A final health quiz, in collaboration with IAPSM, was conducted for MBBS students following a preliminary round in which 45 students across four batches competed. Four top teams, each comprising three students, qualified for the finals and showcased commendable knowledge and competitiveness in the final round.

Complementing the quiz, a poster competition on the World Health Day theme saw widespread participation from students. Teams of two displayed posters judged on creativity, thematic relevance, and impact. The judging panel included NIIMS Dean Dr. Ashutosh Niranjan, Medical Superintendent Dr. C.S. Ahluwalia, and senior faculty members.

In a visual celebration of the day’s theme, four colorful and informative Rangolis were created by MBBS students and interns from the Department of Community Medicine. These artworks depicted key health issues and were widely appreciated by the audience and judges alike.

The day concluded with a prize distribution ceremony where the Dean, Dr. Ashutosh Niranjan, honoured the winners and participants with certificates and awards, recognizing their efforts and creative contributions. A formal Vote of Thanks marked the end of a successful and meaningful celebration.

World Health Day is celebrated annually on April 7 to commemorate the founding of the World Health Organization (WHO), promoting awareness and action on global health challenges.
