Nari Jagriti Manch‘s Pink Brigade distributes 1000 free cloth bags; appeal residents to shun polythene bags
1000 cloth bags were distributed free of cost to the residents who came to shop in the vegetable market located in Sector 40A under the mission of creating polythene free city headed by Neena Tiwari, head of the Pink Brigade of Nari Jagriti Manch (Reg.), Chandigarh.
On the occasion, the active women of the Pink Brigade of the forum also made the residents aware about the use of polythene and its side effects on the environment. Not only this, the female members of Pink Brigade also suggested vegetable and fruit vendors a good option to use paper, jute nylon or cloth bags instead of using polythene bags.
The head of the forum, Neena Tiwari, told the residents who came to shop for vegetables and fruits, that the use of polythene bags was causing huge damage to the environment. She said that after the burning of polyethene, the smoke emanating from it damages the ozone layer, which is the main cause of global warming.
She said that the solution is not to use polythene and to be aware of its side effects and to make others aware about it. He said that the use of polythene bags should be stopped all over the world to keep the earth clean, this will also prove to be an important step for cleanliness.

Tiwari said that in the coming days Manch will distribute 4000 bags of cloth in various vegetable markets of the city free of cost and also make people aware of the side effects of polythene.
