The Second meeting of Standing Committee of Administrators Advisory Council on Law & Order held on 06.02.2018 in Committee Room, Police Head Quarters, Sector- 9, Chandigarh. Sh. V.K Kapoor, IPS (Retd) Chaired this meeting and members 1. Major General Rtd. Rajinder Nath PVSN 2. Sh. Kamaljeet Singh Panchhi 3. Sh. Raj Kumar, Secretary CPI, Chandigarh were also present. The Senior Superintendent of Police, U.T, Chandigarh Smt. Nilambari Jagdale, IPS also attended this meeting as member secretary to this Advisory Council alongwith all SDPOs and SHO’s. This advisory council appreciated the working of Chandigarh Police for maintaining Law and Order in the city Chandigarh. All members of Advisory Council advised to strengthen the Beat system and intelligence system in Chandigarh Police to check the crime phenomenon more effectively.
The Chairman, Sh. V.K Kapoor and members present suggested and focused on the following points in the meeting:-
- The State Legal Authority, Chandigarh is already running legal aid clinics in the city. All SHO’s will liaise with the running legal aid clinics in their respective areas and will receive information regarding drug abuse for further necessary action.
- Special vigilance will be made in hotel, motel and guest houses etc to check immoral trafficking activities in the city.
- To maintain regular verification of PG’s, Administrators Advisory Council on Law & Order will write to the Administration for registrations of PG’s and to maintain by laws of PG issues.
- Special meeting with public representatives like MWA, RWA, Veopar Mandal & Committee’s will be arranged shortly by the Administrators Advisory Council on Law & Order. MWA, RWA, Veopar Mandal & other Committee’s may manage the problems of parking of public and they may install more HD night-vision cameras in their respective residential and market areas.
DSP/PCR also suggested regarding dark spot identified by the PCR staff in the different parts of Chandigarh. In this regard, Chief Engineers of Admin Union Territory and Chief Engineers of Municipal Corporation are being informed for providing lights at these dark spots and to take necessary steps for the safety of general public. All the dignitaries present in the meeting loudly praised the commendable work done by Chandigarh Police in these two drives being run by Chandigarh Police i.e. 1. Drive against drinking at Public Place, 2. Drive against drunken driving. In the last, it is decided in this meeting that in the coming days, this advisory council will conduct the meeting on regular basis with public so that general public should assist the police to make the city crime free.
