Chandigarh, August 24– Continuing action against those involved in smuggling of illicit liquor, Haryana Police have seized 1380 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and 600 bottles of beer in Kurukshetra district. Police have also arrested two persons and intercepted a vehicle in this connection.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that a police team got secret information about a bolero vehicle, carrying illicit liquor. When police team signalled the driver to stop at a blockade, he accelerated and tried to flee. The police intercepted the vehicle near Pratapgarh. When searched, 1380 bottles of IMFL and 600 of beer were recovered from the vehicle.

He said that accused have been identified as Sanjeev Kumar of Kamoda and Rakesh Kumar, a resident of village Jogna Khera. A case under Excise Act had been registered against them and further investigation was being carried out.
While appreciating the efforts being made by district police, Director General of Police, Mr B.S. Sandhu said that all Superintendents of Police have been directed to act tough against crime and criminals and also launch a major crackdown on drug peddlers in their respective areas. Regular raids were being conducted on suspected locations by the police.

Chandigarh, Aug 24 – Haryana Government has decided to allow free travel facility to women and their children up to the age of 15 years in state roadways buses on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan on August 26. The free travel facility will be available for women and children from 12 noon on August 25 up to 12 midnight on August 26.
While stating this here today, Transport Minister, Mr. Krishan Lal Panwar said this facility would be available only in ordinary buses of state roadways from one place to another, including such buses plying up to Chandigarh and Delhi.
He said that last year, great rush was experienced on the bus stands to avail this facility. This year also a large number of people are expected to travel in buses on Raksha Bandhan Day. Therefore, to ensure convenience for the passengers including ladies, maximum number of buses would be deployed for operation. Adequate staff in uniform would be deployed at the bus stands to guide the public, he added.
Mr. Panwar said that as per the directions issued to all General Managers of State Roadways, the staff has been instructed to be courteous with travelling public. The buses should be neat and clean, and these must operate on time. The General Managers may also get in touch with the district administration for deployment of adequate number of police personnel at the bus stands to ensure security and smooth operation of buses on this day.

Chandigarh, August 24 : With a view to speed up the disposal of incentive applications, Industries and Commerce Department, Haryana has notified the timelines (working days) of Individual Incentive Scheme under Enterprises Promotion Policy-2015.
While giving details an official spokesperson said that as per the modifications, time limit for approval in case where no deficiency is found is fixed as 30 days and the cases where additional information is required, time limit is fixed as 45 days. In the cases where deficiencies are found, 10 days limit fixed for conveying the deficiencies by the Joint Director or Deputy Director of the Industries and Commerce department to the applicant, 15 days for removal of deficiencies by the applicant unit and seven days notice period to the applicant unit before rejection of application.

Chandigarh, August 24: The Court of Additional Session Judge, Rohtak ordered conviction of three years and fine of Rs. 22,000 to Ashok Kumar, DGM, Hafed Cattle Feed Plant, Rohtak.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of State Vigilance Bureau, Haryana said that FIR was registered under section 7/13 of Prevention of Corruption Act by State Vigilance Bureau, Rohtak on the basis of raid conducted by State Vigilance Bureau, Haryana on December 12, 2015.
