Kharge, Rahul condemn ‘dastardly’ terror attack on IAF convoy, condole death of officer

Congress President Malikarjun Kharge expressed sorrow over the loss of lives among Indian Air Force personnel in a terrorist assault in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

On a social media platform, Kharge denounced the cowardly attack and stood in solidarity against terrorism with the nation.

He conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the family of the deceased air warrior and wished for the swift recovery of the injured personnel, emphasizing India’s unified support for its soldiers.

Similarly, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also offered condolences for the victims of the attack.

Describing the assault as shameful and sorrowful, Gandhi paid tribute to the fallen soldier and extended sympathy to the soldier’s family.

He expressed hope for the quick recovery of the injured soldiers.

The attack occurred in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the death of one Indian Air Force personnel and injuries to four others.

Following the incident, security forces initiated search and cordon operations, with the local Rashtriya Rifles unit leading the efforts.

The vehicles involved have been secured within the air base vicinity. Additionally, it’s worth noting that the elections in Jammu and Kashmir are ongoing in five phases from April 19 to May 20.
