Key Agri, Food, Dairy and Livestock tech product launches at CII Agro Tech India
- CII, govt, eight other countries get together to showcase the best and the latest in farm technology at the 13th edition of biennial Agro Tech starting on December 1 in Chandigarh’s Parade Ground
- Farmers can get a one-stop solution to all their issues, from stubble burning, better packaging to remote monitoring of submersible pumpset
- New opportunities in farming also to be fleshed out in further detail at special conferences for farmers and livestock, where renowned experts will offer help and guidance
13th Edition of the CII Agro Tech India this time has a lot of new agro and food products in store for the farmer community, which holds apt with its theme for this year, ‘Technology in Agriculture: Increasing Farmers’ Income’.
CII Agro Tech India 2018, India’s Premier Biennial four-day Agri and Food Technology Fair, organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is being held from December 1 to December 4, at Parade Ground in Sector 17, Chandigarh, sharp at 1000 hours.
The participating countries include Great Britain, China, Canada, Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Spain. A number of first time launches would take place at the four-day fair.
While Canada would be showcasing its products like swine genetics, grain handling and storage systems, instant quick freezers, etc. to name a few, the country would also be launching new technique for soil testing, ovine genetics, and bacterial treatment equipment.
Great Britain would be announcing first of its kind electronic smart watering system, environmentally safe disinfectants, pedigree pigs and genetics, new kind of packaging for long shelf life, besides other products.
Another interesting launch will be unmanned aerial camera and plant protection system from China.
Medium or small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), also known as drones or remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) systems are increasingly investigated and used nowadays for pesticide applications in East Asian countries such as Japan, Korea, and China. UAV is able to spray a single plant of crop as it has the function of hovering in the air.
New veterinary and poultry medicines would also be brought in by China. A new kind of agriculture land leveller is also being introduced at the Agro Tech, which will not only save considerable time but also conserve resources, which will benefit farmers with an increase in growth of up to 25 percent.
Groundnut Plater, Harvester, Picker and Sheller is being showcased for the first time in India and are designed to plant, harvest and shell groundnuts.
Round Straw Balers, the most environment friendly way to collect straw from the field for ease in transportation and storage shall also be introduced during the fair. German Companies are introducing one of their unique techniques used for sowing wheat without any burning of rice residue. This technology is eco-friendly, preferable for the health of soil as well as it also saves water.
Machines for making wood from cow dung shall also be demonstrated. Conventionally fire wood, electricity or LPG gas is used for cremation purpose. In India people prefer traditional products for cremation like wooden logs and dried cow dung logs.
Compared to fire wood and other alternatives, cremation using cow dung logs cost less. But because of difficulty in manufacturing long logs, the demand cannot be met, for which a machine has been developed that makes long cow-dung logs with minimum human intervention.
A firm, Lemken India Agro Equipments Ltd. is introducing German technology implements. Farmers growing deep root crops like cotton, sugarcane, soyabean and maize are going for this machine which is able to plough 10 inch deep, while a local plough would be able to dig 3-4 inch beneath the soil.
Meawhile, the premier fair, which gets farmers from different parts of the country will also focuses on agri inputs and innovative farming techniques. Interesting displays would include integrated agri business model for wasteland development, kitchen garden, foldable water tank, benefits derived from paddy straw composting and rice transplaners.
International Exhibition on Livestock Management will focuses on management/production/farming of Dairy, Poultry, Livestock, Breeding, Healthcare Products/ Supplements, Feed & Nutrition, Egg Production, Feed Production and Animal Housing.
Food Tech will focus on the rapidly growing Food Technology sector while Implementex will feature on the best of agri and farm implements. Companies engaged in irrigation systems, farm water management, rainwater harvesting, water conservation techniques and aquaculture will also be participating.
Crop insurance, Commodity trading, Agri and commercial vehicle loans, Weather forecasting, Drones, Consultancy, IT and Enabled services, has also found crucial space in the fair.

Kisan Goshthees on all days will be sharing the best practices with farmers on commercial dairy farming, cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants, session of paddy straw management, making agriculture profitable for farmers to name a few.
