Mann condemned January 30 as a dark day in Indian politics, accusing the BJP-led Union government of undermining democracy during the mayoral election.

He praised the court for overturning the presiding officer’s decision to invalidate eight legitimate votes, which ultimately paved the way for AAP’s Kuldeep Kumar to be democratically elected as Mayor of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation. Mann expressed gratitude to the Apex court for its decision, stating that it would significantly bolster democracy’s foundations in the country.
