Cracking the whip on the snatchers and auto lifters the Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police under the supervision of Inspector Amanjot Singh arrested 6 persons namely:
- Naman Sehgal s/o Sh. Rajesh Kumar r/o House No. NC-102, Kot Kishan Chand Jalandhar, Punjab. Age 24 Years
- Shubham Sehgal s/o Sh. Rajesh Kumar r/o House No. NC-102, Kot Kishan Chand Jalandhar, Punjab. Age 27 Years.
- Vikram @ Vicky s/o SH. Shiv Paswan r/o # 3734, Mouli Jagran, Complex, UT, Chandigarh. Age 23 Years
- Rohit s/o Babu Lal r/o # 3872, Mouli Jagran Complex, UT, Chandigarh. Age 24 Years
- Manowar Gul s/o Mohd. Tasin c/o Sukhraj Singh r/o House No. 341, Gali No. 4, Village Burail, Chandigarh. Age 19 Years
- Jugnu Singh s/o Sukhdev Singh r/o Govt. Toilet No. 40, Ph. I, Mohali, Punjab. Age 20 Years
On 14.3.2018 a secret information was received that two brothers who were previously involved in several cases of snatching and auto theft are again involved in chain snatching in the area of Chandigarh and on the basis of this information both the brothers were arrested from 33/34/44/45 chowk, from them one stolen avtiva and three gold chains of different cases were recovered.

Similarly on 14.3.2018 on the basis of secret information accused Vicky and Rohit were arrested from Sukhna Lake parking and from them two Activas, two motor cycles and one gold chain was recovered.

On 17.3.2018 two persons namely Jugnu and Manowar were arrested from Sec.22, Chandigarh, with their arrest the mobile phone of case FIR No. 72 dated 15.3.2018 u/s 356,379 IPC PS-IA, Chandigarh which they have snatched from plot No.51, Ind. Area, Chandigarh was recovered.
With the arrest of all above said six persons total 10 cases were worked out, out of which 5 are of snatching and 5 are of vehicle theft.
