Inauguration of Government Schools adopted by Rotaract Himalayan

A student run non-profit organization by the name of Rotaract Club Chandigarh Himalayan inaugurated three schools adopted by the name of “Happy Schools” which are government schools adopted by them in areas around Chandigarh. Under the scheme of Happy schools, the club provides basics amenities like proper sanitation, painted and creative walls, benches, books and clean water etc. They started with the inauguration of their first school i.e. Government Primary School Lakhnaur followed by other two schools i.e. Government Primary school Sohana and Government Primary School Jagatpura.  Rotary President Deepak Gupta, Rotary Secretary Gaurav Ghai and Charter President of Rotaract Himalayan, Sandeep visited the inauguration.

Teachers and students of the respective schools had prepared a small cultural program. They greeted the guests with a token of appreciation. The volunteers of RCCH have been doing a commendable job by extending help in upliftment of these schools that cater the academic needs of the children from the backward class. They try their best to make these schools lively and friendly so that students are attracted towards the premises.

The club has been operational all over the colleges of Tricity and has a young brigade of active volunteers. It has organized events like Salsa Slam, Bowling brawls and Pirates of City in the Past. Funds collected by these events are used in the upkeep of their project Happy School. The club has been doing an excellent service in the field of social work. Its work is worthy of all the praise.
