Himachal government will issue EV policy in a month: Mukesh Agnihotri
Himachal will buy 300 electric buses in the first phase
Chandigarh: Himachal Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said that the Himachal government is coming up with its electric vehicle policy within a month. We are working on it. Agnihotri was talking to reporters after visiting the EV Expo being organized by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Sunday.
He said that Himachal government has a fleet of 3500 buses. Out of this one thousand buses will be replaced. He told that 700 bus routes are completely in loss. On which electric buses will be run. Due to which 300 electric buses are being procured in the first phase. Agnihotri said that the work of replacement of vehicles has started at the government level. Due to which 19 electric vehicles have been included in the fleet of the Transport Department.
Agnihotri said that very soon 20 electric buses would be run in Shimla and 15 in Dharamshala. Earlier, welcoming Mukesh Agnihotri on his arrival here, PHDCCI Haryana Chapter Chair Pranav Gupta said that such EV expo will also be organized in Himachal with the help of Himachal government.
Speaking on the occasion, MD, Himachal Road Transport Corporation IAS. Sandeep Kumar said that the infrastructure for electric vehicles is being strengthened in Himachal. The work of making EV charging stations has started in all the districts of Himachal Pradesh. PHD Chamber of Commerce Punjab Chapter Chair R.S. Sachdeva, Co-Chair Karan Gilhotra, Rajeev Agarwal, Joint Managing Director, Him Technoforge and many other dignitaries were present.

Adani Group’s billionaire Chairman Gautam Adani and his nephew Sagar have been issued summons over US Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) allegation about paying $250 million (over ₹2,200 crore) in bribes. A terminal at London’s Gatwick Airport has been evacuated due to a security threat. “Safety and security of our passengers and staff remains our top priority.
