‘Hawa Badlo’ movement reaches more than 60 million Indians
 Gail India Ltd has been creating awareness and changing mind-sets, to ensure a greener and cleaner tomorrow through its movement “Hawa Badlo”, which attempts to mobilize collective societal efforts to improve the deteriorating air quality by encouraging sustainable and environment friendly lifestyle habits such as planting trees, cycling, walking, carpooling, using public transport, conserving energy and using cleaner energy sources like Natural Gas for industries, CNG for automobiles, PNG for commercial uses, etc.
 
The various initiatives under Hawa Badlo movement have been successful to reach to the Indian masses and are major contributors for reaching 60 million people. Few of the initiatives include: Bring Back The Blue Skies, Kadvi Hawa Badlo, Change the Habit Change the habitat, Hawa Badlo School Warrior contest, and Gift an AirLens.

‘Airlens’ – smart nasal filters were gifted to traffic policemen to help them combat air pollution comfortably without causing any hindrance in speaking, whistling while performing their duty unlike a traditional air pollution mask. 
 
Hawa Badlo ‘School Warrior contest’ was able to develop advocates of change by engaging the students by asking them to showcase their creative views on Air Pollution by uploading short videos and art forms on advocacy  against Air Pollution, problems of Air Pollution and solutions for curbing it. A short film “Grey Day at school” was also made by GAIL to educate the students on the perils of air pollution.
 
‘Change the Habit Change the habitat’ was able to motivate the masses to take a pledge against curbing pollution.

GAIL partnered with the national award winning movie ‘Kadvi Hawa’ which focused on climate change. A short film ‘Kadvi Hawa Badlo’ was produced and subsequently promoted along the movie. The campaign was able to reach out to a much larger audience due to the integration with the movie.  
 
‘Bring Back The Blue Skies’, was a campaign dedicated to turn back time to better environment and bluer skies through perceptible action, change in common lifestyle choices and behaviour toward the environment.

GAIL India Ltd plans to support Hawa Badlo movement and empower the idea on a long term basis so that it becomes a national movement.
