Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that the Haryana is effectively fulfilling its responsibility of serving the common man while also implementing the public welfare schemes of the Central Government. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi, Haryana is progressing steadily as a partner in development, empowered by the strength of a triple engine government.

The Chief Minister was addressing the gathering at the ‘Sankalp Ki Udaan’ ceremony, held to mark the inauguration of air services from Maharaja Agrasen Airport and the foundation stone laying of Terminal-2, on the auspicious occasion of the 135th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar in Hisar on Monday.

Describing the day as historic, the Chief Minister said, “Today, on April 14, we are witnessing a significant milestone as air services commence from the newly constructed Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar to the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya, the city of Lord Shri Rama. Along with this, the foundation stone laying of the second terminal of Haryana’s first airport marks another leap in the direction of development.” He said that this event has sparked a wave of enthusiasm across the entire state ushering in a new era, a new direction, and a new momentum in Haryana’s growth journey.

The Chief Minister reiterated Prime Minister Modi’s vision of making India a developed nation by 2047, affirming that Haryana will play a significant role in realizing this dream.

Nayab Singh Saini apprised the Prime Minister that this is the same Hisar whose soil carries the fragrance of hard work, where the prosperity of livestock is celebrated, and where our brave soldiers have always served the nation with pride and sacrifice. Today, the light of education is reaching every home here. From Rakhi Garhi, which echoes the grandeur of our ancient civilization, to Agroha, which tells the tale of Maharaja Agrasen’s legacy of commerce and social harmony, this land is rich with heritage.

Chief Minister emphasized the deep bond between Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi and the people of Haryana. Recalling the Prime Minister’s visit to Hisar on September 28, 2024, during the assembly elections, he said, “From this very land, the Prime Minister had sought a pledge from the people to elect a BJP government for the third consecutive term. Today, I feel proud to say that the people of Haryana have fulfilled that pledge. This victory is a testament to the trust, intent, policies, and leadership of the Central Government, he added.

He said that within the first 100 days of the BJP’s third term, 19 promises from the party’s Sankalp Patra have been fulfilled, work has commenced on 90 others, and significant progress is being made on the rest. He said that Haryana’s double engine government has now transformed into a triple engine government, accelerating the pace of development threefold.

The Chief Minister highlighted the launch of the Lado Laxmi Yojana, aimed at empowering women, for which a provision of Rs 5,000 crore has been made in the state’s first budget of the new term. Reflecting on the transformation in air travel accessibility, he said that for many years post-independence, air travel remained a distant dream for the common citizen due to lack of connectivity. Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi has turned this dream into reality through the UDAN scheme. He said that the Prime Minister has also laid the foundation stone of the second terminal building of the airport and continuous flights to Ayodhya, Jammu, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Chandigarh have also started from here.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that today is dedicated to the upliftment of the last person in society—the poor and the deprived. On the auspicious occasion of Baba Saheb’s birth anniversary, the sacred land of Shri Krishna has been directly connected to the land of Shri Rama, marking a historic moment, along with the launch of several major development projects for the people of Haryana. He said that every policy, scheme, and decision of the Central and Haryana Governments is inspired by Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. The Central Government has set a clear goal to transform the lives of the poor, the exploited, and the underprivileged. He added that continuous and accelerated development is the government’s core mantra. In line with this, a new air service from Haryana to Ayodhya Dham has been launched. The Prime Minister said that the life, struggle, and message of Baba Saheb have become the guiding pillar of the government’s 11-year journey.

Before 2014, there were only 74 airports and now this number crossed  150

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that in before 2014, India had only 74 airports. Today, that number has crossed 150. In addition, around 90 aerodromes have been connected under the UDAN Yojana, and air services are now operational on more than 600 routes across the country, offering affordable air travel to people.

The Prime Minister further stated that airline companies have placed orders for 2,000 new aircraft. As the number of airplanes increases, so will employment opportunities, not only in aviation but also in the aircraft maintenance sector. He said the newly inaugurated Hisar airport will help realize the dreams of Haryana’s youth. Referring to his earlier commitment, the Prime Minister said, “I had promised that even those wearing ‘hawai chappals’ would be able to fly in airplanes—and today,  that promise is being fulfilled across the nation.” In the past 11 years, crores of Indians have experienced air travel for the first time.

He said that while the government is focused on enhancing connectivity, it is equally committed to ensuring social welfare and justice for the poor fulfilling the vision of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and the aspirations of the Constitution’s framers.

BJP Government honours Baba Saheb and Ch Charan Singh with Bharat Ratna

The Prime Minister paid tribute to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and farmer-leader Chaudhary Charan Singh. He said that while previous Congress governments overlooked such towering personalities, the BJP government has honoured them with the Bharat Ratna, giving them the recognition they truly deserve.

He accused the Congress of using the Constitution merely as a vote-bank tool, claiming that the party systematically ignored the rights granted to SC, ST, and OBC communities, thus keeping the poor and marginalized away from their entitlements. He stressed that the true spirit of the Constitution calls for a Uniform Civil Code, which Congress never attempted to implement. In contrast, the BJP government in Uttarakhand has taken concrete steps toward implementing the Uniform Civil Code.

Empowering the deprived with a life of dignity

The Prime Minister pointed out that for nearly 70 years after independence, only 16% of the population had access to tap water, most of whom belonged to SC, ST, and OBC communities. In the initial 6–7 years, the BJP government has provided tap water connections to over 12 crore rural households, raising coverage in villages to 80%. He reaffirmed the government’s resolve to ensure tap water reaches every home.

He also highlighted that a lack of basic sanitation disproportionately impacted these communities. By constructing over 11 crore toilets, the government has significantly improved their quality of life and dignity. Moreover, he said that after recent amendments to the Waqf Act, Waqf Boards can no longer claim ownership of tribal lands in any part of the country.

On this occasion, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol, Haryana Civil Aviation Minister Vipul Goyal, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Krishan Kumar Bedi, Public Works Minister Ranbir Gangwa, MP Dharambir Singh, Rajya Sabha MPs Kiran Choudhary and Subhash Barala, BJP State President Mohanlal Badauli along with other ministers and MLAs of the state were present.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the efforts of the Haryana Government, led by Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini, for its consistent work towards the welfare of the underprivileged. He said that the dismal state of government jobs in Haryana prior to 2014 is well known, and praised the current administration for effectively rectifying the systemic issues inherited from the previous Congress government. Today, Haryana has set an exemplary record in offering government jobs without any Kharchi-Parchi. It is a matter of pride that he has got such a partner government in Haryana to realize the vision of developed India.

The Prime Minister commended the state government’s transparency in recruitment, adding that over 25,000 eligible youth were provided government employment before the Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini takes oath. He further added that the state government is actively preparing a roadmap to create thousands of new jobs in the near future.

Highlighting Haryana’s contribution to national service, the Prime Minister said, “Haryana is a land of valiant youth who protect the nation’s borders.” He criticized the Congress government for neglecting the demands of soldiers under the One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme, adding that after the BJP came to power, it ensured the nationwide implementation of OROP. He informed that over Rs13,500 crore has so far been disbursed under the OROP scheme in Haryana alone.

Expressing confidence in the state’s progress, the Prime Minister said that Haryana will play a pivotal role in fulfilling the vision of a developed India. The fragrance of Haryana’s soil will continue to spread across the world, he added.

Beginning his speech in a heartfelt Haryanvi accent, Prime Minister Modi connected warmly with the audience. As he took the stage, he greeted the crowd in local dialect: Mahare Hariyana Ke Dhakad Logaan Nai Ram-Ram ,Thade Jawan, Thade Khiladi, Thada Bhaichara- Yo Sai Haryana Ki Pechchaan (Ram-Ram to the strong people of our Haryana – the brave soldiers, the stellar athletes, and the people with an unbreakable brotherhood – this is the identity of Haryana). The crowd responded with thunderous applause, giving the Prime Minister a rousing welcome. He thanked the people of Haryana for their overwhelming presence despite the ongoing Lavani harvest season.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini inaugurated an exhibition at Hisar Airport, showcasing the state’s remarkable journey of development. The exhibition, organized by the Department of Information, Public Relations and Languages, vividly highlights the progress achieved across various sectors and informs the public about key welfare schemes, projects, and government accomplishments.

The Chief Minister said that the exhibition features major government schemes and development statistics. He emphasized that a state’s progress can be gauged by its per capita income, which in Haryana has risen from  Rs 1,37,770 in 2014 to Rs 3,53,181 in 2024–25.

He said that Haryana is making rapid strides in every field, with the government prioritizing development projects based on public needs and convenience. In 2014, the state had only six medical colleges, which has now increased to 15, nine of which were established in the last ten years. Plans are underway to set up a medical college in every district.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to delivering public welfare benefits more effectively. Significant enhancements have been made to both the scope and accessibility of these schemes.

He further stated that all information regarding government schemes, including application processes, is now available online. The government is leveraging technology to ensure that citizens can access services without the need to visit government offices. In addition to the exhibition, comprehensive information about the schemes can also be obtained digitally.

 Year-long programmes to be held across the country to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Constitution Day

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday paid a floral tribute to Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar on his 135th birth anniversary at the Mini Secretariat complex in Hisar. He said that this day is a moment of pride not only for Haryana but for the entire nation, as we continue to walk the path shown by Baba Saheb and strive to fulfill his vision for India.

The Chief Minister said that Baba Saheb, beyond being the principal architect of the Indian Constitution, was also a timeless symbol of social harmony. He devoted his entire life to the upliftment and welfare of the poor and marginalized people. Through the Constitution, Baba Saheb unified the country and gave new strength to national unity and integrity. His invaluable contribution will always be remembered.

He further added that the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, following the ideals of Baba Saheb, has resolved to make a developed India by focusing on India’s 2047 vision. This collective mission is one that all citizens must contribute to.

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution, a series of year-long programmes are being organized across the nation. These include awareness campaigns in which the Preamble of the Constitution is being read to promote understanding among the general public.

Paying homage to Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the Chief Minister said that Baba Saheb, who dedicated his life for the empowerment of the deprived and exploited sections of the society, is an inspiration for the society. Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar struggled throughout his life for the upliftment of the society, especially for the rights of SCs, backward classes and women. As the chief architect of an egalitarian, secular, and democratic Constitution, Baba Saheb ensured equal rights for all citizens. He fought tirelessly against untouchability and caste-based discrimination, and with his efforts provisions like the Right to Equality and the Abolition of Untouchability were enshrined in the Constitution.Despite facing immense obstacles in his own life, Baba Saheb pursued higher education and inspired generations to follow in his footsteps.
