GGDSD College hosts Annual Fashion Show ‘Trendsmoda’
The Department of Fashion Technology and Apparel Designing Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma (GGDSD) College organized its annual fashion show, ‘Trendsmoda’.
The young budding fashion designers showcased their creations with theatrical production and displayed the unique designs and costumes with the ramp walk. The backdrop for showcasing of these designs was constructed with neutral colors and 3D effects.
Chief Guest, Dr. Poonam Aggarwal Thakur, Principal NIFT, Mohali and Guest of Honour, Dr. Neha Miglani, Chief Consulting Editor of the Lifestyle Journalist Magazine gave away the prizes.
The show was well appreciated by President, GGDSD College Society, Shri Upkar Krishan Sharma and the Principal, Dr Balraj Thapar. The event was co-ordinated by Head, Department of Fashion Designing, Dr Sumita Sikka and faculty members, Ms Alpa Sharma, Ms Jatinder Kaur, Mrs Priya Malik and Ms Rekha Singh.

Rotaract Club of Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma (GGDSD) College organized ‘Sports Day 2020’ and Exhibition at SOREM School, Sector – 36, Chandigarh, today.
The Rotaractors had trained the children at SOREM for fun-packed sports activities that encouraged their physical and social skills for two weeks. In addition to this, an exhibition of handmade articles made by the school students was also put up to promote their craft and professional abilities.

SD COLLEGE CELEBRATES NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY 2020
ON THE THEME ‘WOMEN IN SCIENCE’
The department of Bioinformatics & Biochemistry of GGDSD College, Sector 32-C, Chandigarh celebrated National Science Day , today, under the aegis of Chandigarh Renewable Energy and Science & Technology Promotion Society (CREST), Chandigarh Administration. The department had organized innovative activities and informative talks for the students and faculty of the college. Amongst the various activities the documentary making on the topic ‘A DAY IN SCIENCE LAB’ and Poster Making received thuge response from the young budding scientists. Mr. Anurag Baghla, an internationally renowned expert on Ethical Hacking & Cyber Security and a certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) from the EC-Council (US) conducted an interactive session on how to safe guard yourself from cyber crimes. He is providing his contribution to secure India against cyber crime by endowing his services as the President of India’s First Anti-Hacking Welfare Society (Regd.) since 2011. In his address he explained how to protect social media accounts from potential hackers and stalkers. He also demonstrated the ways to protect personal profiles, accounts and confidential data stored online or on the mobile devices. Students showcased their ideas and views on the role of Women in Science through presentations and literary events, group discussions, short story telling, mono acting etc. A quiz competition was also conducted for the Post graduate students. More than 300 graduate students participated in the various activities.
Gautam Adani, nephew Sagar summoned by US SEC over 2,200 cr-bribery case
Adani Group’s billionaire Chairman Gautam Adani and his nephew Sagar have been issued summons over US Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) allegation about paying $250 million (over ₹2,200 crore) in bribes. The duo has been asked to respond within 21 days, as per the notice sent via a US court. The summons were sent to their residences in Ahmedabad.

Powerful new missiles are ready to be used

A terminal at London’s Gatwick Airport has been evacuated due to a security threat. “Safety and security of our passengers and staff remains our top priority. We a re working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible,” an airport spokesperson said. Railway services are also not stopping at Gatwick Airport station untill further notice.
Congress wins all 3 seats in Karnatka by-polls
Congress candidates registered wins on all three seats which went for by-polls in Karnatka. Pathan Yasirahmedkhan won from Shiggaonwith margin of 13,448 votes, defeating BJP’s Bharath Bommai, E Annapoorna won from Sandur with margin of 9,649 votes defeating BJP’s Bangara Hanumantha. CP Yogeeshwara won from Channapatna with margin of 25,413 votes defeating HD Kumaraswamy’s son Nikhil Kumaraswamy.
