How many days left for ganesh chaturthi 2022:- Lord Ganesha is seen as the god of good fortune, wisdom and prosperity. That’s why he’s the god everyone worships first when they visit a Hindu temple. Lord Ganesha is said to be born on Chaturthi Tithi of Shukla Paksha in Bhadrapada month. This year the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations are starting from 31 August, which is also known as the Vinayak Chaturthi. It is a 10-day long festival where worshippers pray to Lord Ganesha with much pomp and grandeur and Celebrated to mark the birth of Lord Ganesha.
This festival is celebrated with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm across the country, especially in the western state of Maharashtra. The day falls on Chaturthi thithi (fourth day) of the Hindu month of Bhadra (August – September). This year the festivities will begin on September 10 and will continue will September 19.
On this occasion, people install clay idols of Lord Ganesha in their home and pray for 10 days for prosperity, good fortune and wisdom. People also buy Lord Ganesha idols for their mandirs. Many too visit pandaals that are luxuriously decorated ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi. Every year some people do first time ganpati at home
How to prepare for puja & samagri required :- People get home the Ganesha idol or photo. This is the same idol that they immerse in water after 1, 3, 5 or 11 day. Many people get eco-friendly Ganesha home and immerse them in a new bucket of water to prevent polluting the environment
A fresh yellow or red cloth will be needed to cover the chowki platform. People keep red hibiscus flowers, mogra, champa and rajnigandha for prayer and decoration
Also, one of the most important samagri is Durva, which is basically blades of a specific type of grass Modaks or laddoos for parsad, Panchamrit (it is made using ghee, milk, curd, honey and sugar) Janeu, the sacred thread, kumkum, chandan, haldi, bail, dhoop, agarbatti, lamp with mustard oil, panch paptra, kalash Big trays for keeping these items.
How to conduct the puja (puja vidhi) :- Once you have placed the idol of Lord Ganesha on the platform, light an agarbatti and dhoop in the aarti thali. Now place paan patta with supaari on top of it on the floor, right in front of the sandli. While you do this, simultaneously chant the mantra, ‘Om Gan Ganpatiye Namah’. If a panditji is doing the puja vidhi for you, put aside some offering for him/her for their services. It should be remembered by the people who get the idol home, that the idol should stay covered in a clean fresh white cloth and should be taken off only on the day puja is performed – the process is called murti sthapna or holy instalment of the idol.
Why ganesha is immersed in water:- Once the idol comes on your doorstep, do not just take it in. Get a bowl of rice and shower it on the murti. Make sure it’s raw rice and not cooked rice. Kacha rice should also be put on the pedestal of the idol along with a Supari, Haldi (turmeric), KumKum (red coloured sacred powder), Abhil and Dakshina (as mentioned in the samagri).
Keeping ganesh idol in water at home:- Once the Lord Ganpati idol is installed, offer water with the help of the flowers. Following this, apply roli and akshat. Offer red flowers, janeu, Doob, betel nut, cloves, cardamom and laddoo or modak in betel leaves. Worship the lord with Shodashopachar. Present the lord with dakshina along with 21 laddoos.

How many times should I offer bhog? :- If you have brought lord Ganesha home, then you have to take full care of him. Just like you would do for any member of the family. Offer him bhog thrice a day and make sure modaks are offered daily.

Visarjan meaning :- The arrival of Lord Ganesha makes devotees bring joy but his visarjan after the puja leaves them sad and teary-eyed. Disciples do the visarjan on the day they conclude their puja. People do it after one-and-a-half days, three days, five days, seven days or eleven days.
When is ganesh visarjan in 2022 :- While the entire festival lasts for 11 days in all, many people also bring Ganpati home for one day, three days, five days or even seven days. Lord Ganesha is known as the God of good fortune who provides prosperity, fortune, success and destroys evil. Due to all these qualities, he is also known as Vighnaharta and the day of Ganesh Chaturthi is called Vinayaka Chavithi or Vinayaka Chaturthi. While the festival is celebrated pan India, it is more popular in states of Maharashtra, Goa, Andhra, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.
