Gandhi Jayanti Celebrated at Ashmah International School
Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervour at Ashmah International School, Sector 70, Mohali. The purpose behind the celebration was to inculcate spirit of peace, love and brotherhood among students.
Students ensured their active participation in the function. Students were dressed in Khadi to show their participation and enthusiasm to mark the Gandhian spirit of non–violence and truth.
The purpose behind the celebration was to inculcate spirit of peace, love and goodwill among students. Students delivered speeches and recited poems highlighting Mahatma Gandhi’s principles. Dandi march and Quit India Movement staged by the students stole the show. A play on Gandhi Ji’s life was also performed by the students.

Director of the school, J.S. Kesar appreciated the great efforts of the young learners and said that He was a selfless leader and suffered many hardships for the freedom of our country. He was sent to jail many a times, but he suffered all this for the sake of the country. He believed in the social equality. The students also took a pledge to follow the principles of non-violence and truth as advocated by Gandhiji.
