First meeting of Standing Committee of Administrators Advisory Council on Law and Order held today in Committee Room, Chandigarh Police Head Quarters, Sector- 9, Chandigarh. Sh. V.K Kapoor, IPS rtd. chaired this meeting and members 1. Major General Rtd. Rajinder Nath PVSN 2. Sh. Kamaljeet Singh Panchhi 3. Secretary CPI, Sh. Raj Kumar 4. Sh. Ramesh Vinayak, Editor, HT, Chandigarh were also present. Senior Superintendent of Police. U.T, Chandigarh Smt. N.V. Jagdale, IPS also attended this meeting as member secretary to this advisory council alongwith all SDPOs. This advisory council appreciated the working of Chandigarh Police for maintaining Law and Order in the city Chandigarh. All members of Advisory Council advised to strengthen the Beat system and intelligence system in Chandigarh Police to cure the Drug abuse more effectively. Chairman, Sh. V.K Kapoor suggested that SDPOs and SHOs should be more hard on criminals and the fear of police should be there in crime and criminals phenomena.
It is also decided in this meeting that this council will work on drug abuse awareness in schools, colleges while conducting meetings with Parents, RWAs, NGOs, Principals and other effective members of the society. All the dignitaries present in the meeting loudly praised the commendable work done by Chandigarh Police in these two drives against 1.Public Place drinking 2. Drunken Driving. In the last, it is decided in this meeting that in coming days, this advisory council will conduct the meeting on regular basis with public also.
